Clean, spacious room. Lots of good options for an evening meal. Breakfast was also good. The children enjoyed the outside play area. Big car park. Def recommend if visiting Drayton Manor or Twycross Zoo.

Our room was big and so was the bathroom. It was no frills but then that’s what we wanted as we did it on the cheap. The room was clean and tidy. Staff were all nice and polite and helpful. Breakfast was amazing! Really nice full English and big portions as were the evening dinners we had. Bar was good to. There was even a goal on the playing area which made our boys very happy. I would definitely book again and would recommend to all. Well done all at the Appleby Inn 😀

This was a one night stop over for a visit to a local attraction. The hotel was perfect for our needs as a multigenerational family. The rooms were clean and had all that we needed for our stay. We had dinner at the hotel and were delighted at the number of gluten free choices available for our coeliac guest. Portions were generous and the meal was good value. Breakfast was excellent with a wonderful choice of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, juices and preservers as well as a wonderful cooked-to-order choice as well. There is a good children's play area outside which also includes a grassed area, which was a huge plus for our little guest. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming and I would have no hesitation in staying again or recommending to others

Charged an extra guest fee for 2 adults and 2 children in a quadruple room. Reception very unhelpful and didnt even mention there was a free breakfast or free wifi - didnt even say time of check out. Youre meant to be psychic for all these things, clearly. Room was very cold and turning nobs to radiator did nothing - heat just completely off. Room also facing back of kitchens area so clanking and glass emptying into bin heard constantly. Sole convenience is proximity to Twycross Zoo, otherwise I wouldnt bother and stay elsewhere.

I have to say I waa really surprised at how nice this place was. The only issue for me (being a bigger bloke) was i couldn't fit in the shower as it only has a s.mall opening but I was able to get around .

Just back from staying in the family room and I must say we found the place mostly very tired and dated. The heating was on all night and the valve on the radiator was snapped off in our room and not attached meaning we couldn’t adjust the heat. I don’t mind the heating on, but we heard others complaining in the morning too. The shower head only let half the water out and was leaking all over. I adjusted the head which stopped the leaking but didn’t solve the water flow problem. We could hear noise from the pub downstairs until almost midnight and the walls are so thin you could hear conversations from adjacent rooms. It does look like other parts of the hotel have been invested in but sadly not the room we were in. I mentioned all our grumbles on check out and it seemed to be dismissed as if she knew about these problems already. Breakfast was pretty average, all the hot cooked food was very greasy. But the cold selection was good and coffee machine options too were good. Good parking available and was very close to the zoo we were visiting nearby. We had dinner in the evening too and that was all enjoyed, felt a bit expensive for pub food but was nice enough so no real issues with that area. Pub/restaurant seemed busy enough so must be popular to locals which is good to see

We arrived around 4:30, the carpark was busy and the restaurant really busy - wasn’t an issue for us as we were going out. The reception is away from the hustle and bustle of the bar/ restaurant which was good. The room was big enough, but the beds are really small. My husband had to go and ask for another room (on his own) as the double was bearly wide enough for both of us, let alone long enough. … so if you are over 5’8 you will struggle. Room 32 was ok, dated furniture compares to the others we saw, new’ish bathroom but the handles are rusty, the shower tray did nothing to help (fed back to reception - they said OK). I liked how they were out in the carpark , but ours faces the back of the kitchen - bins outside (big noisy biffs bins) and numerous staff having their cigarette breaks - not great. If like me you are a light sleeper, this won’t work for you. I could hear the upstairs come in at 1am and then others up and about from 5am. Breakfast was ok, it’s a list of set plates. Quite confusing, maybe a list of what’s on offer and we can chose our own? But the set up was lovely, staff really good. Cereal and hot drinks and juice self serve. For the price and locality to the Zoo which we needed it was perfect.
