I liked having nature around me and its fulfilling breathtaking beauty. The owners/staff are very friendly and understanding; beautiful people. It was a pleasure to meet them. Hearing a river flowing and the tranquil sounds of a waterfall on the property; amazing to both fall asleep to and awaken to. Hummingbirds to admire, a swimming pool, soccer field, volley ball, a kids playground for families with younger ones, a walking path, hammocks, and breakfast provided. I had my own car and speak Spanish, so I enjoyed everything I wanted to do and see on my stay. Some good things to see were mentioned by the owners/staff. Positive energy. I did not have any dislikes.

Very friendly staff, tasty food. It seems like a hung-out place for Ecuadorians from Quito. Beautiful landscape and jungle around. Quiet and lonely not like hippies Mindo but close enough to the sights. You need a rental car to get around. Nice experience. Rooms in lodge type. Not much comfort but nice and clean.

Beside the 1 hour tour to the museum, there is nothing else to do specially evening/nigth. No restaurant service, very cold water pool, not sauna, no turco, not jacuzzi, at 6 pm no restaurant service at the place, the 2 restaurants in town closed we end dinning cookies with juice. Poor wifi service, no pool, pingpong table, entertain room, nothing to do. Facilities are all rigth, conftable room, but with all cabins empty besides ours and other, they asigned us next to the other, not thinking about guest confort. Much to work on, very booring.

Room and surroundings were very nice. We had a massage which was mostly reflexology and great. The only thing we did not like was that breakfast is served from 8:30 A.M., which is a bit late for us, other than that, we highly recommend this place.

I booked this lodge in November and arrived in march. Expedia did not inform them of my arrival (pre-payed ) All the staff do not speak English .I had to call my previous hotel for a translator .I showed them my conformation . They were booked out ,but made a room available to me for 3 lovely days. This is a very isolated area , a national park .Tulipe is a small town of maybe 50 people on a cobble road . What a peaceful place. they have historical dig sites all over the hills. a small museum ,botanical garden too. The tiny village has a few cafes as well as the lodge . It's a hard place to find but worth it.The current phone number as of 11/2014 did not work , email via Expedia.com The water is safe after 2 days we got a translator ,they use bottled .Food safe too , enjoy the tilapia, shimp with garlic and don't forget the Ecuadorian beer Pilsner.

This place is clean has a nice pool and grounds. The rooms are large cottages that sleep four with a queen and bunk bed arrangement. Easy to spend the day hanging out, and is more of a resort than a place for birders if that's why you're in the area. The hotel is also hard to find and is about 5 miles off the main road to Mindo down a road that is being worked on but has a lot of bad driving sections. Also, we got overbooked for the second night, so we decided to leave as it was raining anyway, but it was a real hassle dealing with the Spanish speaking manager and the Expedia to get a proper refund credit. If Mindo bird watching is your intent, this place is too far away for a dawn excursion, but it's a good place for relaxing if you have a car.
