🌴 A Destination in Itself – Beautiful Design, Great AC, a True “Wow” Hotel Arrival & First Impressions On arrival, we were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink called Dawa Sawa (lime juice, honey, and soda – 550 KES). It was so good I ordered it several times during our stay. We also received a helpful briefing and tour of the property, which immediately set the tone for a special experience. Architecture & Atmosphere Swahili Beach Resort is truly a destination in itself. Designed in the 1970s by Polish-born architect Zbigniew Trzebinski and Slovakian Tibor Gaal, the property is a stunning showcase of coastal design and remains one of the most impressive resorts on the Kenyan coast. Photos and videos simply don’t do it justice – this is a genuine “wow” hotel. Rooms & Rates I paid $2,390 through Expedia for three nights in two king rooms (#115 & #116). Rooms are spacious, with mosquito netting, strong Wi-Fi, and excellent air conditioning. Views are limited due to lush mature vegetation, but that greenery adds to the tropical setting (and keeps mischievous monkeys nearby – keep balcony doors closed!). Bathrooms feature powerful rain showers with strong water pressure (caution: hot water runs very hot). Tuk-tuks are available right outside the resort, and there’s a complimentary shuttle to Diani Airport. Dining Food here was the best we had during our 10 days in Kenya. The resort offers both half-board and full-board options across four restaurants.

It really is as beautiful as it looks online. Staff are super nice and helpful. Love love loved it !

Beautiful Place and Beautiful staff

We had a wonderful stay at Swahili Beach Resort! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, making our stay very comfortable. A special thank you to Edna, who was especially helpful during check-in. She made sure our family of four was assigned to rooms next to each other, which made things so much easier for us. She also kindly arranged a late check-out to accommodate our late flight—something we really appreciated. Overall, excellent service, clean rooms, and a warm, relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The staff was very helpful and helped us have the best honeymoon possible! The lined up activities in the area and made our stay on the property fantastic!

Everything was amazing.....

Stunning setting and uniquely beautiful architecture and landscaping--the grounds are truly exceptional. Attentive staff and better than average cuisine.

Property and decor were beautiful.Rooms were very spacious. Food was excellent. Only issue was that you were charged for water at the restaurants. You received two bottles of water a day in the room but any additional water bottles you were charged for.

Absolutely stunning place and great service. A bit far from the Mombasa airport but once we got there, everything was perfect!

Beautiful property and rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Overall, the food could do with improvement, for example nachos were literally Doritos or something similar, with nothing on them, and everything else mixed into a cup to dip into. Saying that, food at Zanzibar, spice route and some of the breakfast options were very good. Lots of quirks though! Only one restaurant was open for lunch, and even being low season, food took up to 1 hr 45 minutes to arrive, with no real explanation. Same when their system showed us checking out a day sooner than actual, no real reason was provided as to why. Lots of cats, many are strays or kittens, and all should be spayed or neutered.

Beautiful property with friendly and helpful staff.

This was my second time at Swahili Beach. The property and the pools are stunningly beautiful, the food is delicious, but the best part about the place is the lovely accommodating staff. Everyone is so kind and friendly.

I highly recommend this property. Excellent staff and management of the hotel. Very well trained staff. Lovely design with many pools and great beach access/ocean swimming.

Generally it's the best all round resort in Diani with very friendly stuff.

This property is very different from others, from the different choices of restaurants to the staff who make you feel very welcome and are absolutely great in general. The gardens,the pools, rooms etcs absolutely stunning. I've been always returning here after trying most of the highly rated resorts in Diani.

The hotel’s central location makes it convenient for exploring nearby restaurants and attractions. The property is clean, the food is decent, and the staff are warm and accommodating, which enhances the overall experience. That said, while the hotel still maintains a good standard, it’s not quite as impressive as when it first opened, with some visible signs of wear and tear. However, this doesn’t significantly impact the stay, and I would return for the convenience it offers. One downside is that the beach isn’t as great as other spots along the Diani coastline. Overall, a solid choice for its location and service.

Good facility

Swahili Beach Resort was a dream. Such a beautiful property & the food was very delicious from the beach side restaurant to the night dinner buffet . I will definetly stay here longer next time .i really enjoyed the live band and pool side bar. I will say that they need better customer service and better communication within the staffing .
