Loved staying here! We were a bachelorette group of girls and had so much fun!! Staff was beyond nice

The property is located in what seems like the slums of Jamaica. The area is very noisy with cars and trucks honking. The food was ok but nothing to brag about. The desserts were dry and flavorless. Drink cups were left on tables for long times and tables weren't being cleaned as often as needed. Overall, I'm not impressed with this resort and 100% sure that I will not return.

Amazing staff on a beautiful property

Excellent Jamaican food! Rooms well stocked. Staff friendly & helpful. Beach is decent not excellent. Centrally located. Entertainment good! Solid 4 star!

My favorite Resort

It was nice and quiet on the property and clean. The beach was wonderful and the drinks were great at the bars and there was different things to do weather it was water park, beach, pool, water activities, or just relaxing. The food wasn’t that great for breakfast, lunch or dinner there was barely season if any at all. There’s no room service and you can’t bring food to your room. The mini fridge in your room only had coke, Diet Coke, water, and orange soda. No juice or other options for soda. The room had coffee no tea but the staff was nice for the most part, very lively but as a foodie I was hungry.

I had a king size room and the problem was that they had taken 2double size beds and put them together. Very uncomfortable having that crack between both beds so you couldn’t sleep in the middle. Not comfortable at all. I was hoping it would have been a king size bed not joining 2 double beds together.

Everything was decent. Really appreciated my driver Omar, he was very reliable, helpful & respectful.

I love it at RIU would definitely stay there again.

The workers at the shopping store aka gift shop-were really rude especially the ones behind the cash register, on 4/27/25 at the night shift. She was the rudest to my husband and I, I was so disgusted by it and wanted to return the merchandise, but I did not. Aside from that everyone was really nice and very attentive, Also I want to send a huge thank you to the front desk girl name WYNDELE I think i just butchered her name lol I can't remember clearly but it was something like that. she was awesome every single time I needed assistance.

Entertainment was excellent, world class.

The facility was great. The food options were good but most of the time 5/10.

I enjoyed ocho riu Rios but they dining options are minimal & had a lot of children on the resort… no top shelf liquor as well!

The grounds were well kept and the room was clean.Things I disliked. First the check in was horrific. Had to wait in line for 2 hours then the staff told me she was going upgrade my room which I believe was a downgrade. I was supposed to have a king bed ocean view and she switched me to a double king in the last building and told me I still had oven view. I had to walk out to the balcony and look around. When I sat on the balcony chair the rail from the balcony blocked my ocean view. After she offered me the upgrade she then said let me check if the room is ready. I waited for over a hour for them to tell me.The food selection and preparation was horrible. What wasn’t over spicy was under or overcooked. They had calamari on my last night I waited for more to be cooked just to almost choke on what seems like plastic inside holding the ring of the calamari together. Another morning I water for the server to wipe a table for me she wiped it with a wet cloth and there were unused utensils on the other side of the table that the last patrons did not seem to use. She dragged the dry napkin and utensils across the wet take to set for me to use. I looked at her she said it’s fine. Looked at her again she asked what. I told her “you just dragged a dry napkin across a wet table with utensils that had been sitting there” she asked if I wanted her to change the napkin. I looked at her again and she asked if I wanted her to change the entire thing. My answer was yes. 4 days trip ruined.

The building needs remodeling and the dinning room had roaches on the tables.

The property was safe and good entertainment. I love how it’s right on the beach and all you can eat and drink. Your room is also stocked up with sodas, beers, waters and liquor but no snacks like they said on their website. What I didn’t like is some of the food were tasteless. I’ve had better Jamaica food in United States. and also some of the staff’s were rude to some of my family members. But there were also some staff members that were very polite. I wish they will invest in white towels, I didn’t like that they give brown towels in the rooms, you can’t tell if they’re clean. Also please do better with the sheets, I asked for sheets to make my bed and I got clean sheets but it had some staines on them. Other than those stuff the place was nice the white party was awesome, and I had a great time.
