This property epitomises luxury. It’s all in the detail. Flavoured water on the beach, ice buckets filled with drink whilst sunbathing, gourmet food and ice cream. The staff give you that boutique feel and the honey made on site is a lovely touch. We moved onto another property at a different part of the island and if it wasn’t fully booked we would head straight back to the lux*. It’s another level

Some fundamental issues mean this hotel is not a genuine 5 star hotel. It's 4 star at best, and worse in some areas. The main issue many will find is the pool is not heated. The cleanliness is also not up to scratch. Maintenance issues also within rooms - I asked multiple times for the AC to be checked as it was not adjusting to room temperature. Gave up in the end. The service around the pool is poor - therefore do not get all inclusive as you won't get your money's worth. The hotel did listen to my feedback and upgraded me because of the issues I found - so that was nice, but it was a stressful holiday that I wouldn't want others to encounter.

We’ve stayed at dozens of luxury hotels all over the world, and the Lux Grand Gaube is up there towards the very top of the list. The hotel design is jawdroppingly beautiful. The rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant is 1st class- excellent variety and quality of dining options. Plenty of tasty veggie food. The live cooking stations are at the top of their game. The beach is spotless, plenty of spaces to relax, clear water, plenty of water activities are included.

We stayed 10 nights at LUX Grand Gaube. We had a great time and would definitely recommend. Pros: - Two beaches and swimming pools - was nice to have a change of scenery at times. One is adults only, good if you want a quieter time. - Room was large and comfortable, massive modern bathroom with a big shower and two sinks. - Free water sports at the hotel - we did kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and snorkelling. Water skiing also offered but quite weather dependent so was available on only a handful of days for us. - Tennis and padel courts free to book. Padel rackets provided but have to pay for balls (pretty cheap and you keep them). - Food at the restaurants was excellent. Our favourite was Bodrum Blue (Greek/Turkish) and Beach Rouge (Mediterranean). Creole and BBs not as good in our opinion. - We did two excursions during our stay - a trip to Casela (nature park) and a speed boat tour of the east coat islands (ending at Ile aux Cerfs). Organised through Hello Islands (I think connected to the airport transfer booked through Expedia) - a rep contacted us on our first night and met us the following morning. Was very helpful in recommending what to do and when. Both trips were amazing, highly recommend. - Whole resort was clean and well maintained - Staff very polite and friendly. Reception very helpful with any questions or issues. Cons: - Slow bar service at the main bar - Slimy underfoot in the sea in many areas

My stay at LUX* Grand Gaube has truly exceeded all expectations. The staff are exceptional, especially the team on the beach who go above and beyond to make your experience special. It’s the thoughtful details—like cool boxes placed by your sunbed and having it set up for you—that really make a difference. The food has been outstanding across the board, from the à la carte restaurants to the buffet, which offers so much more than a typical buffet experience. I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed the variety of water sports available. A fantastic holiday all around!

Outstanding resort. Highly recommended for families. The staff took great care of my wife and son, especially at meal times where they catered for both who have food allergies. Stunning location too; right on the beach.

The LUX hotel deserves its 5 star status. It has great facilities for both families with & without children and even has an adult only beach area. Main gripe was the fact that the sea is so shallow you can hardly get any depth to swim properly which I felt was a shame. The staff are second to none. Shout out to Sandeep in reception, Neru & Vishal in the buffet restaurant area who were excellent

We received a partial welcome because we came in after sunset, alot of things we didn't get to know. Also it's a big complex and the room we got was nice but the shower had a very bad smell, we let them know but nothibg was done. Overall not our cup of tea.

Amazing Hotel .. starting from the room .. beaches all over the hotel from each side you go .. plenty of free beach activities .. Kayaking windsurfing catamaran etc ... the Inti peruvian restaurant is wonderfully.. others are good ... The only minus is the restaurants are bit expensive... the hotel is a resort and you have to stay and eat in the hotel ..so expect to pay at least a 150 -200 $ per couple just for food . if you want to go outside you need to take a cab .. Try to take your taxis from local companies..it is cheaper

From the moment we arrived at this hotel the service was top notch. First glimpse of the hotel is stunning and it continues from there. The room and bathroom were beautiful. All the rooms have a gorgeous ocean view. Breakfast (included) was delicious and you lacked for nothing. I highly recommend staying here

The check-in process was slow, with poor communication and a lack of organization among staff. The site is pleasant, and the decor adds a modern touch to a structure showing its age. There were some delays in fulfilling requests, but the dining experience was excellent—varied, delicious, and well-prepared. The kitchen team was numerous and available, with special mention to sous-chef Deepuk, who was particularly attentive. Overall, the weekend was average—hotel service was lacking, but the dining was a highlight. Many staff members seemed disengaged, spending time chatting or on their phones. At the nautical center, four or five employees were inside, yet no one was at the counter to assist guests. We had to call someone over for service. Despite the number of staff, poor task distribution complicated rather than improved service. Check-out was equally disappointing. No one took the time to thank us or ask about our stay. Instead, we were sent to a closed office where an employee processed the bill and said goodbye without warmth. Fortunately, the porter made up for this lack of hospitality. He was attentive and professional, ensuring a more pleasant departure. Given the LUX brand’s reputation, I expected a better hotel experience. Fortunately, the food quality made up for some of the shortcomings.
