Pleasant stay and a good base for exploring the local area. Food good and room was well maintained.

Enjoyed a couple of nights at The Hoops for a weekend family get together. Excellent gastropub menu with huge portions for dinner and breakfast, comfortable superior room and super service, inside and outside in secluded beer garden. On a main road so front facing rooms a little noisy but not really a big issue in the overall scheme of things. Recommended.

We had a lovely stay at the Hoops Inn. Our room at the back of the Inn was quiet, spacious and clean and the quality of the food (both dinner and at breakfast) was excellent.

I love beautiful old buildings, and this was one of them. The grounds were beautiful. The staff were very polite. The breakfast was very nice. All in all my partner and i had a wonderful time, and will definitely be booking the same place again next year.

Lovely hotel. Welcomed us & our dog. Excellent walking area at the back of the hotel for walking the dog. Had a Sunday roast which was as good as mine! Breakfast was so large, I didn’t have to eat again that day!

The Hoops Inn was great value for money and was ideally located to tour around Northern Devon and Cornwall. The room was clean and felt like it had been recently refurbished. We enjoyed the evening meal and breakfasts. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will stay here again and would recommend it - especially for the price!

This place a very nice and full of history. We found our room very small for us and 2 dogs but was very hot. No fan in the room and nothing available when asked. Pleased we only stayed one night with the dogs. Would stay again as all staff very friendly and welcoming. Food including breakfast was very nice.

Very pleasant one night stay, the snug area is a nice retreat for hotel guests to get quite time away from the bustling bar....Staff v helpful and friendly....Had an excellent Roast on a Sunday, excellent beef and good value, top marks

Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent gardens, delicious menu, good bar. The breakfast only starts at 8 - no good for visiting workers and the walk to the nearby beach is a bit of a nightmare.

Warm , welcoming, accommodating to all needs

The Inn was delightful and very well “modernized” ,yet still keeping the lovely old portions like a stained glass window in our room. We were disappointed with the service though. They were extremely busy at the time so perhaps that could explain. When the two rooms were booked well over a month ago we also booked dining for the evening. However, we were not seated at any of their pretty dining areas as they said it was all booked up. We were put at a table in the public bar area where a group were not dining but just drinking. The breakfast served in a lovely dining room was excellent— very generous portions as was the Sunday roast the previous evening.
