The rooms are not like what is displayed in the photos. The bathrooms are extremely small.

My partner and I stayed here for 3–4 days during our visit to San Salvador. The hotel is about 50 minutes from the airport and located in a quiet, safe neighborhood—great for a relaxing stay. Due to a flight delay, we arrived late and hadn’t realized the reception closes at 10 PM. We tried calling around 9:30 PM but didn’t get a response, so we spent the night at a nearby hostel. The next day, check-in went smoothly and we were kindly escorted to a separate building. It wasn’t the one shown in the photos, but it was still clean, comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast was okay, and the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a good experience.

Totally bamboozled by images of the property. Didn't offer bed size I asked for and had to settle for 2 beds in a tiny room with a window to a wall because, of course, they do not offer reimbursements (should"ve been my first clue). We were given a key to a garage door so we could come and go as we pleased but the gate remained open, not unlocked, OPEN the first night we were there. Texted hotel staff as anyone could come in but never got a response, so we felt very UNSAFE. Bathroom was tiny and you have to jump a 20 inch wall to get in the shower, which doesn't help if you have a knee/hip injury like I do. No safety bars, toilet is almost under the tiny sink and by the way, don't place your phone on the sink bc it has a sensor to start/cut water flow. Did I mention the a/c unit in the tiny room sits smack in front (on top) of the bigger bed so you freeze your ass off while the smaller bed gets no a/c. You get 1 flimsy bed sheet, no cover nor blanket. 1 bottle of water for 2 people/4 day stay. 1 tiny bar of soap. Oh, and day 3 we had a visitor of the cockroach type. Very unhappy.

The stay was excellent. The staff was so friendly. The property is clean and safe. This has been our second time staying there. God willing there will be a third time and we most likely stay there again.

Very clean, very nice staff. Breakfast was ok When we checked in they didn't have a King or a Queen bed available so they took us walking to another building on the same block that apparently was newer that the other hotel but belonged to the same company and this was a very small room, TV was on the right side of the bed and it was very uncomfortable to watch tv. The pictures they show on hotels.com have nothing to do with this hotel.

The location was in a quiet neighborhood, and it appeared very safe. Good proximity to restaurants and shopping. Parking was available outside. Staff was great. I stayed two different time during my two week stay, both time for 3 days. The first time I stayed at the older building which was nice but not updated. My second stay was at their remodeled property a few doors away and it was updated. I would definitely stay here again.

My friends and I were eager to experience San Salvador and selected Hotel Tazumal House as our place to stay in the capital city. We were initially drawn by the photos, descriptions, and boutique feel of their website and review. This excitement began to erode even before we arrived. Twice, I emailed the hotel to inquire about transportation services to/from the airport and about amenities. None of my inquiries were answered before arriving. The daytime staff was sweet, but the hotel was not what was portrayed on the website. The bathrooms are not shown on the website. They are small, very small. The rooms are secure, but the doors are not well insulated and we were able to hear everything as we tried to sleep (including the night desk staff who was on the phone for hours). Our breaking moment was coming back at night to find the master set of keys still in the front door of the hotel, and not a single person on site. Anyone could have opened the door, taken the keys, and easily gone through our rooms. We waited in the lobby until someone arrived. They did not seem too concerned the keys were left in the lock. We, however, were. Coming from the U.S. we were aware of the history of this city and crime. We wanted to experience the new El Salvador, but this was not the experience we wanted. Our female friend no longer felt safe and we opted to end our stay after one night. Please be upfront on what is offered and what the rooms really look like, ensure timely responses.

I woke up late and i was a minute from breakfast to end and the front desk lady had no problems with me and my partner getting breakfast. She was very friendly and served us with a smile. We ended up staying there one more night, The staff is very friendly.

So I stayed at this hotel twice on my vacation, and each visit for about 5 days. Sadly I didnt ask for any names, but the reception staff are really nice, the ladies in the kitchen are very kind and they always remembered my breakfast order lol (and it was free breakfast which was nice). There are several options for breakfast, too, not just cereal or continental, so you never left hungry. My rooms were more than acceptable for the price, the AC worked awesome in both rooms, tv service was good, the wifi wasnt great and actually I couldn't even connect but I didn't mention it to staff so it's possible there was an easy fix...however I just relied on data from my local sim card. One small thing I didn't like was the rooms were a bit noisy. Each morning, I could hear dogs barking (like a lot, really loud and for a long time), and depending on the other guests, sometimes I could hear them talking in their rooms. I mean, for the price, bring earplugs, and you won't notice a thing, lol. The location is good, I walked to the old town centre once or twice. It is a bit of a hike, maybe 5km ish, but nothing major. I had no worries about the neighbourhoods.....I felt safe everywhere I walked. The beds are comfy. The showers have nice pressure. Good location. Cheap price. Breakfast included. I would totally stay here again if I go back.
