I didn't realize this is a hostle. The bed for two people is a double, a bit small. The public bathrooms are clean. The most disappointment is the communication with the host, and Expedia could not help. The host insisted to communicate with me in German and said that I can use Expedia to translate, which was impossible for me. I asked for parking, the host send me something looked like an website address and of course I couldn't go to the site. After many attempts, finally got it, but again, that is all in German. Since I arrived at the YellowInn, took over an hour to figure how to park my car. If you do not speak or understand any German, DO NOT SYAY THERE.

Markus was delightful! The place was clean and comfortable. We were only there for one night, but we would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

The whole experience was wonderful. Very clean and very comfortable. The host was friendly and made sure we had everything. There is a kitchenette on each floor and laundry machines on the upper floor. Each room has a mini fridge. (No freezers) The furnishings in the room are well done. The room photos online are legit and reflect how nice it is. There are quiet hours too, so we had a good sleep.

The Inn was very clean and the shared bathroom facilities were cleaned regularly. The host Markus is very friendly and helpful, he makes it his priority to ensure you have a great stay.

I can’t rate this hotel highly enough. Simple, but with great communal facilities, friendly fellow guests, very very clean. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, desk and chair, wardrobe, clothes rail… Each room has big windows with shutters, lots of trees and birdsong outside. Marcus is a fantastic host, speaks excellent English and so welcoming and friendly. The hotel is in a quiet area but on a main road, east to get to and with excellent transport links. The hotel does not serve food or drink apart from vending machines (coins needed) but there are cafes and restaurants close by and food shops within easy walking distance. There are kitchen facilities on each floor, washing machines, dryers, and the ablutions are excellent.

For a budget friendly establishment, it was a very pleasant surprise! Very clean, very quiet, and with all necessary amenities!

Although I booked a room for a night and spoke to the owner just a few times, I can easily say that Markus is fantastic as host and really cares about his guests. The place is a clean no fuss accommodation and it shows that the host really enjoys his work. Well done, Markus 👏

I stayed at the Yellow Inn as I was attending a conference at the Olma across the road. The Yellow Inn was a fantastic location for this. Markus was a fantastic host. Although there wasn't a reception, it was very easy to communicate with him about my arrangements and he kindly stored my things after I checked out while I travelled somewhere else at the weekend. Throughout my time there, Markus was friendly and helpful and did everything possible to make sure his guests had an enjoyable stay. He was always present and working very hard at the Yellow Inn which was always tidy, clean and well-equipped. Yellow Inn has everything one could possibly need and is a wonderful workation location. I even got some of Markus' delicious mead which I shared with my friends!

This property was incredibly clean and the owner was extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Simple, cozy and affordable. The inn is a 15-min walk to marktplatz st. gallen or 5min on the bus. There’s a bus stop right outside of the inn.

Cleaning, Quiet, Safe. Not far from the city center

Warning: Nowhere on the listing of this hotel or during my booking process is it stated that the rooms are not en suite. You have to share the bathroom with everyone in your hall. If I had known that, I wouldn’t have booked this place. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, because there are none of those things in the shared bathroom. Also, the heater didn’t work, and I was cold at night. The things I liked: the very fast wifi and the laundry machines. Although, the washing machine on the right didn’t spin and drain well, and my clothes were drenched. And the dryer on the right didn’t work well either. So, make sure you use the machines on the left.

When we first arrived, we felt that it was a bit further from the centre than we realised, but when we discovered that there were regular buses (generally every 5 - 10 minutes throughout the day) and only a short ride away it cancelled out our initial concern. We knew when we booked that it was basically bed and amenities only, but it proved to be exactly what we wanted and enabled us from paying "frightening" rates that were on being asked for elsewhere. The room and amenities were spotlessly clean, suited our requirements perfectly and at a very reasonable price in an otherwise expensive location.

I had a great stay at the Yellow Inn! The room was more spacious and comfortable than I was expecting. Also, the common area with a kitchen, washer and dryer was amazing. The self check-in was also very easy. All around a great stay.

From start to finish, every interaction we had on the property was incredibly friendly and hospitable. Very close to the main train station, with all the amenities needed on the inside. Huge thanks to Markus and his lovely staff!
