Our stay at Loisaba Star Beds by Elewana was one of the most unique and memorable experiences of our travels, and a perfect continuation of our special celebration trip with family. From the moment we arrived, there was a sense that this would be something different. The open-air star bed concept is truly magical—falling asleep under a sky full of stars and waking up to the sounds of the bush is an experience that’s hard to put into words. The setting is peaceful, remote, and beautifully integrated into the surrounding landscape. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the exceptional team. Mohammed, the manager, ensured everything ran effortlessly while making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. His attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The dining experience was outstanding. Christopher, overseeing food and beverage, curated everything seamlessly. Chefs Rama and Belcha prepared consistently delicious meals with great variety and flavor—especially impressive given the remote setting. Every meal felt thoughtful and satisfying. Service at the table was equally memorable. Jeremiah was attentive and warm, and John Jr. brought a unique and personal touch—not only as a waiter but also as our astronomer for the evening. His guidance through the night sky added an unforgettable dimension to the experience. Our safari experiences were excellent thanks to Solomon and John, both incredibly knowledgeable and passionate guides who made each outing engaging and rewarding. Their ability to track wildlife and share insights made a real difference. Back at camp, Jane and Irene took wonderful care of our rooms, ensuring everything was spotless and comfortable. The star beds themselves were beautifully prepared each evening, adding to the sense of anticipation for the night ahead. Julius, as askari, provided a reassuring presence and added to the feeling of safety and care throughout the stay. We would also like to recognize Dorah, manager from Loisaba Tented Camp, who extended exceptional warmth and hospitality during our broader Loisaba experience. Her kindness and professionalism left a lasting impression and added to the overall sense of care we felt throughout our time in the conservancy. Loisaba Star Beds is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience that stays with you. The combination of its one-of-a-kind setting and a truly dedicated team made this a highlight of our trip. We left with incredible memories and a deep appreciation for everyone who made our stay so special.

Otherworldly! This establishment was so unique in that you are able to sleep in a warm bed (thanks to hot water bottles in the sheets) under the starry nights of Kenya, right on the line of the equator! The beds are canopied with BLACK mosquito nets, so that bug prevention does not hamper your view of the night, as it would with light colored nets. And it it rains, no need to do anything. The staff will automatically run to your room and wheel the bed right back into the covered portion of the room. Wake in the morning to a fresh individual coffee or other drink you order and charming cookies brought right to your room, then off to breakfast. Very freeing to take a warm rain shower while breathing in the fresh outdoor air in the stone walled open air bathroom. Food was absolutely Michelin star quality and served with a discriminating eye to presentation, which was beautiful. The game drives in the conservancy were filled with the animals of the region in close, photographable range and lovely sunrises and sunsets. Service was kind, friendly, clear safety instructions and people who understand the beauty of the region working there. Really quite an excellent experience!

Staying at the Loisaba Star Beds was an experience beyond words—absolutely magical from start to finish. Waking up under the vast African sky, with the stars above and the sounds of the wild around you, is something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. What truly elevated our stay, however, was the exceptional service. Pius in particular went above and beyond, offering the highest levels of hospitality with a warm, professional, and attentive approach. From the moment we arrived, Pius made us feel completely at home—always anticipating our needs, sharing his deep knowledge of the land, and doing it all with genuine kindness and a smile. The rest of the extraordinary staff at the Star Beds were equally impressive—welcoming, thoughtful, and committed to making every moment unforgettable. Every detail, from the stunningly prepared meals (see attached photos) to the seamless game drives and warm sundowners, was flawlessly executed. If you are looking to experience a true luxury African safari, look no further. The Loisaba Star Beds combine raw natural beauty, exclusive comfort, and world-class service in a way that few places can. Highly, highly recommend.

We stayed three nights at the star beds and had an incredible experience. The staff was so welcoming, knowledgeable and made us feel right at home. We loved sleeping under the stars, our game drives, the delicious food and watching the wildlife roam from our room. We stayed at 4 magnificent locations during our safari, and Loisaba Star Beds was our absolute favorite. We had booked 2 nights, but I would have loved to stay longer! As it was, the first night it rained (which was still very enjoyable), so I am relieved we had that second night to enjoy the bed under the night sky. Every single member of the staff made us feel welcome and special. The personalized service was outstanding, the view and experience of our room was astounding, the food was incredible, and our guides were superb. Particularly Dalmas, who we had for two days, was knowledgeable, patient, adventurous…the perfect guide. Our stay was perfection. The room is built against the cliffside, so the back wall is actually rock. It’s incredible. Of particular delight is taking a shower while looking out over the hippo-filled river.
