Grand Mercure Malang is the best. The location is close to everywhere but not on the main road, so it's not crowded. From the main road, turn a little and you're there, perfect location. From Bakso Bakar Trowulan, it takes less than 10 minutes. The room is spacious, take the deluxe executive. The bed is not 200x200, but 240 x 200m. This is really big. Sleeps 3 adults still loose. It's cool. The swimming pool is warm water, if you bring small children, this is also a 100 for the swimming pool. When I stayed, it was really crowded but the check-in and check-out process was crazy slow, that's also a 100. Overall the best !!

Overall, my stay was fairly okay. The room was clean, spacious, and came with fairly complete amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful, which I appreciated. However, the room was quite noisy, as I could hear other guests talking from nearby rooms and along the hallway. Another uncomfortable experience happened during checkout: before 12 PM, housekeeping knocked on our door to inform us that it was checkout time and that they needed to clean the room, even though we had not requested any cleaning. I was staying with three elderly guests, and this felt unnecessary and intrusive. As a 5-star hotel, I expected a higher level of privacy and service refinement. A more discreet and considerate checkout approach, along with better soundproofing, would be more in line with 5-star hospitality standards and would greatly improve the overall guest experience.

Check-in was delayed until 3:30 PM. The hotel staff, seeing our tired and exhausted faces, immediately complimented us. We got complimentary tea and ice cream for the kids. Then at the front desk, we got vouchers for massages, meals, kids' activities, etc. We were happy, the compliments were great. I thought the vouchers were free, but they weren't; they were just pricey, and they were actually more expensive. Well, I was already excited, but it turned out to be a dud. My suggestion: It's better to not have those vouchers, otherwise customers won't get what they paid for. Or make the vouchers more clear about what customers actually get. As for the room, the fragrance isn't quite like a 5-star hotel. It's just average. But so far, it's clean.

Have stayed here several times but this time it was special for my husband's birthday, unfortunately there was a problem with the room (severe leak, heavy water coming out of the light) causing some items to get wet this also made us wait for repairs +/- 1 hour. The sink faucet was also really tight. Even though this had never happened before. From the management immediately apologized to our room by providing 2 Coffees & 2 croissants besides we got an additional free late check-in until 15:00. Thank you Grand Mercure, hopefully it doesn't happen to other visitors. Will still be one of the hotels to stay again in Malang
