This hotel is on a lovely beach about 90 minutes outside of Dakar. It’s a new property with great amenities. The buffet had a lot of variety and food was good. There were a lot of activities from water yoga to kayaking to peddle boats. The beach was very swim able with gentle waves. I wanted to acknowledge Erica at the front desk for fantastic service.

This property sees very few Americans so the language barrier was very tough, but overall I thought the staff was quite rude. Translations took a few tries to understand and at one point the tour desk mocked me. I wanted to sit by the window during dinner but I had to move because as one person I wasn’t allowed to sit at a table for 4 even though it was not crowded and was told to move. Some of the staff were kind but many were dismissive. The room was ok, it was pretty hot and we didn’t have much control over the AC, the shower took a while to warm up. The food was the biggest complaint, but all inclusive usually has bad food. We were even more disappointed to find out the two restaurants that required reservations were also buffets. My last straw was, at the store we bought snacks for our upcoming flight back, and after purchasing many items and about the leave the lady had the audacity to ask me if I had bought the fan that I already came in the store with. As a Black American the last place I thought I would be accusing of stealing would be Africa. Honestly, I found the European guests kinder than the staff. Unfortunate, but I don’t understand how this would ever be considered a 5 star hotel.

A very beautiful resort with great rooms. Everything was perfect but the food was average or below average. It’s also a pity that the wine is so bad that it’s undrinkable.

Notre petit sejour c'est très bien passé, l'hôtel est vraiment très agreable et le personnel très agréable et de bon service. C'est la deuxième fois que nous venons, nous apprecions vraiment l'etablissement Riu Baobab mais il me semble necessaire que la direction renforce son équipe d'accueil des nouveaux arrivants car le personnel n'est pas assez nombreux ce qui génère pas mal d'énervements... c'est dommage ! Et enfin, nous trouvons la nourriture de qualité médiocre hormis les délicieux plats à base de poisson, sénégalais et les pizzas... les desserts vraiment moyens et trop sucrés. Mais sinon très bel endroit !

I was lucky to stay during a quiet time, as I know the hotel can get busy. It was lovely and peaceful. The pools are fabulous, the grounds well kept and the beach area beautiful. I found the buffets very mediocre and the food in then Steakhouse underwhelming. I loved my massage in the tranquil spa. I don’t like to listen to music and there was often loud music from exercise classes, entertainment and the pools. At night, it went on quite late. I would definitely go back as it’s a very comfortable place to stay.

Loved everything about this hotel. The facilities were great, the rooms comfortable and the staff amazing. This is a proper all inclusive hotel.

We has a bautiful familiy vacation, the nightly entertainments were spectacular. The food was amazing too. It really is an all inclusive experience(breakfast, lunch dinner, entertainment, pools, water park, beach front, and ruiland for the kids).

It was the best experience I had my life I don’t how come holidays to Senegal whiteout going to Riu Boabab is waste if ur holiday. All the staff working Riu deserve to have pay raise well done well done ❤️❤️❤️❤️
