Great place to stay over night in the walled city Walkable to all the sites

This is a beautiful hotel built into the huge stone walls of Ávila. We were on our second visit here and it was even better as we had a room with the lovely fresh and health breakfast. Every staff member we met was friendly and very professional making our stay great. The parking is good easy to get to private onsite and open air, great for an suv driver. We love this hotel see you again next year.

we paid extra for parking next to the hotel, and that was good as it was convenient. lovely building in a lovely setting, just inside the walls. Amazing place, with very good breakfast and nice room.

The staff were wonderful, room was beautiful and the bed most comfortable. Because the city was making repairs on the wall that is a shared wall with the hotel, be sure to ask about a room that is further away. Not sure how long the repairs will continue through no fault of the hotel. All in all it is a lovely hotel with a great location. And very professional staff. A good stay in Avila!

This Property is amazing! The hotels is within the walled city of Avila, the best preserved early middle age fortress in the world. The walls encircle an area of 33 hectares and contains a functional city. The Sofraga Palacio hotel has been built inside a palace begun in the 1500's and upgraded in the 1800's. They have built modern, tasteful accommodations within the original walls. They left exposed whatever walls and beams they could while not compromising the modern hotel. The way they abruptly transition between the two totally works. Beware; the hotel gives a 10% discount coupon for their restaurant BUT if you sit in the portion of the restaurant OUTSIDE the hotel’s exterior wall, you will not get the discount. The waitress was not attentive. It took us 2 hours to order our food and have it served. The food was very good… the service was… not.
