This very comfortable hotel caters to businesses. There are a lot of nice touches- like high tech elevators that both work and make sense, USB plugs where you need them, blinds that automatically deploy when the sun shines on the windows, and thoughtful lighting throughout. The rooms were clean, and furnishings were like new. The breakfast buffet was good, and cooked to order eggs came out quickly. It's only a 5 minute walk to the train station and major tram hub- trams are free and museums are half cost when you stay at certain Basel hotels, including Movenpick.

We found this hotel in Basel very friendly, clean and super close to the tram and train station. They gave us free tram tickets, which we rode all over town to the Christmas markets. Overall highly recommended- the bar staff was excellent as well.

hotel was very nice, near train station. no bar or restaurant within short walk, but transportation was near hotel for free.

Unfortunately the front desk service during check-in was very poor. Ignored for 15 minutes, despite us having patiently waited for the clerk to check us in. The other personnel were fine.

Nice hotel in Basel. The staff were nice and the bar was great. It is very close to the train station and public transportation.
