A lovely little boutique hotel in the countryside near Hastings. Possibly a work in progress, the owners have been working tirelessly for several years to get it to the current state, but we were very happy with it. We didn't try any of the food there, due to circumstances, but the afternoon teas looked wonderful! Highly recommended, easy parking. Just one thing to notice, if when you are approaching the entrance, if you are going uphill (southbound), be very vigilant because the sign is AFTER the entrance, if you're coming downhill (northbound) then it's much easier! If you reach the Beefeater at the top of the hill, do a u-turn (you don't want to eat there!).

There was no WiFi. A sign in reception explained the reason, but it did not seem as though a solution was being sought, and a refund was not offered.

I stayed in the middle of a heatwave, the bedroom had paper thin curtains so was woken by the light at 5am. The room was also boiling, tho they gave me a small fan. The chef had left so no food available in the evening. Breakfast were adequate (tho somehow unable to do poached eggs???) The shower was great, but the whole hotel is extremely tired and needs a huge amount of updating. It had an air of Fawlty Towers about it

It's more a large guest house. We stayed in the lovely, long room.at the top of the hotel with beams running through it. The hotel is quirky and nice. Breakfast wasn't great. We had a full English. Better quality, even if it cost another £2, would have been welcome.

Turned up and got confronted by a member of staff in the car park who proceeded to tell us that there were only 3 staff working that day, and she had to clean all the rooms alone and everything was currently a mess so could we come back later to check in. The outside looked very tired and in need of maintenance so we cut our losses and decided to go and find somewhere else to stay!

A great hotel, with beautiful furniture, bespoke rooms, lovely breakfast. The couple that run this hotel are awesome. Nothing was too much trouble. Happy to have a good chat or to leave you to your day. Organised a restaurant and taxi for us, which we went back to the next day. If we had more time we would have afternoon tea, which looked lovely. We will be going back. Thank you for making my 50th birthday special.

A hidden gem, - lovely room, shower bigger than expected, fresh crispy bedlinen, attentive staff, quiet and peaceful at nighttime. As an unexpected bonus, communal spaces are a delight, - lounge and African bar. Did not have a chance to properly use them so may need to come back. Ah plenty of parking and safe space to store my bicycle. What's not to like!

Very helpful and friendly staff, it was a heatwave and unfortunately the fan we were given could not cut the heat which led to a restless night with the sun streaming in from 5:30. Breakfast was tasty but limited due to staff and delivery issues but the staff that were available were going out of their way to keep issues to a minimum.

Fantastic staff. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great shower. We visited in the middle of a heat wave but with the bedroom windows open it was still comfortable. Second visit and hopefully we’ll be back next year.

Had a really nice stay at Guestling Hall, we arrived early but manage to check-in for a small fee. Staff were great, the hotel itself is very nice with a very country feel décor. only issue is the room could benefited with a little more cleaning especially on the rug. Aside from that will definitely be coming back.
