We updated our room as didn’t want to share a bath room extra £20 per night ! The room it’s self isn’t bad not exactly clean deffo wasn’t hoovered from previous guests , dust on bed side cabinets hair in shower and toothpaste in sink ! Door doesn’t lock so don’t feel safe at night had to prop a chair by handle to prevent others coming in ! Bed had broken spring so fiance cut his thigh on it quite bad then jumped out quick as £30 fine if get blood , make up , etc on bedding when filthy to start with cut my toe on a staple sticking out carpet Location isn’t bad as right by beach and pubs so noise is expected but I wouldn’t stay here again host was pleasant enough quick to take our money ! For upgrade

I stayed here for the weekend in July 2026. To start off with, the staff were lovely and friendly, gave me my own bathroom even though I had paid for a shared , and a free bottle of water on arrival as it was a hot weekend. Location is spot on, shops to the left for your bits and bobs and britainia pier and the beach on your right. The Collingwood was clean & had everything you need. It has a little dining area with facilities to cook or microwave with and some table and chairs. WiFi, tv, nice big bath & shower. Luckily I dont drive, you would have to research or inquire about parking. Pub literally opposite, there is even a dining place accepting doggies right next to that pub. Couldn't really ask for anything more. Will be going back. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were provided with towels, coffee, tea and a kettle

Really enjoyed our stays at the Collingwood guest house. Quick response whenever we needed to speak with the team. Great location and price. We stay often when there's availability

The place was dirty and smelly. One shared bathroom between multiple floors which was NOT advertised at all. Pictures of the place online are very misleading as well. The place is covered in mould and smells damp though out. The room I stayed in was just all bed and no room for luggage or anything thus causing tripping hazards as no room to store anything. The hotel is very dirty and not cleaned properly or at all very clearly. The bed was just a pull out sofa bed which was very uncomfortable and hard to sleep on. Me and my boyfriend booked a new hotel ASAP as we did not want to be in that hotel anymore. And thank god we did! We will not be staying here again!!
