Good food at the restaurant. Feel like we got an older not updated room in an older section. Disappointed, since we had booked well in advance. No elevator to second floor. Senior women traveling on their own. It was difficult to get baggage up the stairs. No assistance offered.

The staff were excellent - halo full & always so friendly. The room was clean, bed was super comfy & had everything you need & it all worked fine. It’s a wee bit dated but has great charm. The Pub was the highlight - excellent food & array of beers on tap. The staff & the locals are the best people ever! And you are a nice walk to Quidi Vidi, Signal Hill, The Battery & the harbour front. Great spot! Would recommend to friends looking to visit. Would come back for sure!

Had to pay cash for the deposit because had no credit card. Upon checking out, I had to ask for my deposit back. They didn’t just give it back to like I was told when I gave it upon check in.

Wouldn't go back. Very dated, 1 ply toilet paper, didn't clean the room, said it was because cleaning staff were so busy.

This hotel is dated and needs some updating. Our room (double) was small and cramped, however it was clean and well equipped with a mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave and hairdryer, etc. The bed was small but comfy and clean. The full breakfast in the restaurant was amazing! The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all our stay was good. Onsite free parking is also a bonus. We would stay here again but maybe in a queen room.

The room was dated and old, furnishings need to be replaced. The pictures on your website border on false advertising it looked nothing like the room we were in, the view of the garbage dumpster was blurry because the window was so dirty and they don’t open, how do you escape if there’s a fire in one of the other rooms. We were there 3 days and never received housekeeping once they didn’t even come in to dump the garbage, provide clean towels or replace the coffee. The toilet bowl was stained as was the bathtub, wallpaper is peeling along the seams and the toilet is not installed properly it’s at an angle. For what we paid the quality did not match the large fee. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and we won’t be back.

This is a unique place to stay. Older rooms with charm. The pub food was amazing. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The restaurant staff were very friendly. The location worked well for us. Each day they cleaned the bathroom and provided clean towels.

The rooms were clean but it was really warm at night and to use the air conditioner all night. It would have been really noisy. The breakfast that goes with the stay was good as long as you like. Things like eggs, my husband's allergic to eggs and there was not a whole lot of alternatives other than toast and bacon or toutons and home fries. Toutons are like fry bread dough. But but the waitress is at the restaurant were very good. We had our own cereal with us so they would provide Don with milk and a bowl every morning, but it would be nice if there was a fruit option or something along that line. Price was reasonable and the front desk and everyone was very helpful and friendly

This establishment is operating on nostalgia. It’s fine for the most part if you’re tolerant. Our room was near the back end where there are doors to exit/enter from the backside or frontside. Unfortunately it’s also a spot where the smokers crack the door open to smoke and the hallways are filled with cig smoke at all hours. Our room , there are no operating windows, we had to have AC on to filter and maintain a proper temp even though it was 6 degrees outside. When I first got there the room smelled bad folks ,I honestly went to the grocery store nearby and bought a can of freshener, seriously. This is not a room I’d walk around bare feet. The shower was one of the most pitiful non functional I’ve ever come across. I actully video taped the operation of this and SHOWED the lady front desk clerk upon departure, she agreed. Almost impossible to get correct temperature and 60% of the water runs to the drain. This place needs work. The fridge was working OT and kept our products ice cold. We didn’t try the bar or restaurant, therefore , no comment on that. Nice location was my main reason to pick this establishment. I don’t feel it was worth what I paid and will be staying elsewhere very shortly. I would not return here. Btw , the lobby ice machine was nice to have.

Beware, dog owners! The Guv’nor Inn charges a non-refundable pet fee of $150 + taxes on top of the room rate! I found this out at the front desk. The room they put us in didn’t have any carpeting at all, only flooring, so I paid $150 for them to what? Sweep up a couple dog hairs? Insanity.
