Stayed at Hotel Alta Montaña and it delivered exactly what you want from a mountain base. Clean, quiet, and well run. The staff are genuinely welcoming, not just polite, which makes a difference when you’re staying a few days. The views are outstanding, especially sitting above the cloud layer at around 1,400 meters. From a cycling standpoint, the location is hard to beat. You’re essentially on the climb the moment you roll out. You can head straight toward Teide or descend as far as you like and build your own climb back up. It gives you total control over your ride profile without dealing with traffic or logistics. Evenings were a standout. The chef is first-rate and the food was consistently excellent, which matters more than people think when you’re training and recovering day after day. Simple, peaceful, and perfectly positioned. I’ll be back next year.

Vilaflor is a charming village and a great base for visiting Teide National Park. Alta Montana is an equally charming hotel with easy parking, has clean and spacious rooms, and friendly staff.

The staff are excellent and were always ready to help. The room was lovely and quiet looking out over the village. We got back from a days walking to sit on the terrace overlooking the valley with a beer, pure heaven. Breakfast was good and parking was never an issue onsite. It’s a steep walk down into the village but the hotel location gives it superb views.

The hotel was excellent in every respect. The whole hotel smelt clean. The buffet breakfast was wonderful. Excellent coffee. Wonderful cakes and bread. Choice of quality cereals, especially the granola. Our room had a magnificent view from the long curved balcony. The heating was on on arrival. I cannot fault the hotel.

Firstly the hotel is in a stunning setting with access to hot tubs, sauna and loungers on the staggered terraced looking over the village and out to sea. Very clean and tidy surroundings with daily housekeeping and friendly staff. The entire place is beautiful. Sadly the hotel restaurant is only open on Sunday and Monday night but breakfast offers a nice selection daily. There's plenty on offer in Vilaflor for food and drink as well as a couple of local supermarkets and a fuel station. The main towns in the south are only about a 30 minute drive away with some stunning roads. We stayed in room 1 with a sea view. The room was a decent size for what we needed but the main air conditioning unit was on the outside wall and made loud buzzing noises every few minutes day and night. We had lots of broken sleep because of this so I'd avoid room 1 if possible. Other than that, it's a great hotel in a nice, quiet and cooler location than the rest of the island.

Really relaxed and quiet location within pine trees, fantastic views, comfortable rooms with good facilities. The restaurant was mikes better than expected and very reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Well worth the drive. Will probably return.
