Overall the staff were very nice. The rooms were pretty clean. They should have ashtrays in the smoking area so people don’t leave their cigarettes butts on the ground.

Property was ok. It appears they are working on updating. No ice bucket in room, coffee ran out fairly early. Breakfast was very limited. The bed was comfortable but the air conditioner was causing the carpet to be wet.

Told I could check in at 2pm .at 2:15 wanted $50 extra to check in 45 min early.."Breakfast" consist of cold cereals, bagels and muffins. Which is ok i guess..Other than that,I would stay again.

Booked a king bed through Expedia, but when I arrived, the hotel said none were available and offered two queens instead. I declined and asked for a refund, they told me to contact Expedia. Expedia called them to approve the refund, and the hotel refused. They claimed the listing showing a king bed wasn’t their fault. To make matters worse, the front desk staff, especially Laurie, was rude and dismissive, acting like I was the problem. Poor service and zero accountability. Based on the most recent reviews, I’ve read, this is a continual problem for them On top of other issues you will read about.

Staff entered our room to clean before we had checked out (and over an hour before checkout time) they threw away our leftovers from our anniversary dinner. Staff was rude, dismissive, implied we should still eat the food that had been in the trash, and offered no solution at all. Never been treated so unprofessionally at a hotel.

Bed was comfy; stands was helpful and kind. No microwaves in room (one if lobby to use, but we use it a lot and i didn’t realize how much of an inconvenience it was to not have one in our room until we didn’t.) Housekeeping never actually came in, just handed us towels through the door so by day 4 our trash was overflowing. Pool was nice.

They overbooked the hotel, canceled my booking. We arrived late at night after a game with children. They informed us they had one room left and since all of Grand Rapids hotels were fully booked they would charge me $700 for the last room. I said no and then the manager wanted to negotiate and rate asking what I could pay- I said what I booked it for and he said no. It was highly unprofessional and I will never stay at another spark hotel again. The manager should be fired.

Website needs to be updated. Website stated you had a hot tub. That is one of the reasons I booked the stay here. Need to provide bigger toels for the pool. Felt like I was using a hand towel.

We didn't get a gift and the breakfast could be a little better besides bagels. But the bed was great and pool was very nice.
