Beautiful view

We stayed 4 nights at the Auberge in La Malbaie and I’m convinced it’s the best choice in the area. Auberge is an old timey word meaning hostel or residence. This is not a shiny new boutique hotel. It’s a well-run quaint older hotel with a variety of rooms and an excellent French restaurant. I recommend the rooms directly above the reception area which have plush beds, wood burning fireplaces, large bathtubs, and balconies with incredible views of the St Laurence. We stayed in room 116. Stay here for its proximity to the water and the restaurant district within walking distance: just over 1km. I don’t know how to say it other than the vibe is amazing; you’re perched on a hill with sweeping views of the water and the nearby hills. Plenty of places to sit and read outside. And the pool is perfect: clean, good temps and long enough to do laps. Clientele seems mostly older Québécois folks, however there are no elevators so be prepared to climb stairs and a steep hill from the parking lot.

Bel emplacement

Cet endroit est toujours aussi charmant. J'y vais depuis plus de trente ans. Malheureusement, l'inexpérience de plusieurs membre du personnel rend l'expérience moins agréable. La cuisine a aussi perdu quelques étoiles. C'était bien meilleur avant. Et c'est un peu dispendieux. Je n'y retournerai probablement pas.

Beautiful, quaint hotel. Perfect views of the St. Lawrence from balcony and close to everything in town. Nice sized rooms, but washroom definitely needed an upgrade.

I was in a room on the ground floor and there is a lot of creaking floorboards from the floor above, you can hear the world talking in the room upstairs.

Booked the hotel for the view and pool. Views from the balcony are fantastic. That said, our room smelled bad and the property felt tired. Also, in the middle of a heat wave and we weren’t allowed to use the pool.

Amazing Auberge, good food, easy parking, large room and very quiet.

Loved the spacious room, bed were comfortable, very quiet, staff was helpful, breakfast was delicious and lots of parking at the back. View from the balcony was incredible, would definitely stay here again.

Belle vue sur la baie face à la Malbaie avec balcon . Stationnement près de la chambre a facilité le transport des bagages. Confortable et tranquille.

Les employés sont joviales et plaisant. Merci pour l’accueil et le bon service. Par contre, les chambres sont désuète, la douche faisait un bruit infernale, celle des voisins aussi. Le lit craque à réveiller toute l’étage. C’est très propre mais désuet pour le prix.

Unique property. Beautiful lookout view. Rooms were facing unobstructed views. We had dinner there and it was very authentic and superb service. Hotel prices are very affordable. Situated in convenient location for near by town, stores. Prices for dinner at restaurant were upscale though but very authentic food with nice views. Hotel beds were very comfy and had nespresso coffee machines inside the rooms.

Nous avons beaucoup adoré l'expérience. Le staff était sympa et chaleureux. Le logement était propre. Je recommande fortement.

Bruit constant du plancher de la chambre au-dessus ; la connexion internet instable . Hormis cela, le personnel a été accueillant. Bon petit dejeuner.
