Quite simply the best Guest House we have ever stayed in! Paul and Mike are so nice and so eager to ensure you have a great stay, they leave no stone unturned. Firstly the property - beautifully renovated, in a popular area of Edinburgh, an easy 10min walk to Princess Street or St James's Quarter. The property in beautifully appointed, with so many quirky and interesting areas to look at and enjoy. The co-owner (Mike's) own Art decorates much of the wall space and it makes for a very personal, intimate and interesting environment. The guys have thought of everything, they really do want you to have an amazing stay. Everything you would expect is there and they have skimped on nothing, everything is top quality - the furnishings, the food, the décor, the finishings. The public space for relaxing is so nicely laid out, with beautiful art, lots of books, games, space to relax, music to listen to or even a free massage chair! (which I used!) If the property is amazing, the service is even better. It is so personal. From the messages prior to arrival to ensure they knew who we were and what we might need, to the welcome drinks & tour on arrival or the breakfasts, personalised to meet your tastes (I am veggie, my wife is pescetarian). I truly believe this place has everything you would want or need for a wonderful stay. I also believe that if anything was missing that one of the guys would do whatever they could to find whatever you needed. Our new favourite getaway!

The hotel is beautifully presented inside and outside - candles and soft music greet you on arrival in the evening. The rooms are beautiful, with modern and spacious bathrooms and every need catered for. The breakfast is delicious and our hosts served all the drinks whilst we enjoyed the freshly prepared food in the large modern kitchen with amazing views. Cannot recommend highly enough to anyone visiting Edinburgh and looking for high end accommodation.

Beautiful house, very welcoming hosts

What a wonderful stay! We absolutely loved our time in Edinburgh and Crescent House was the perfect base for us. Paul & Michael were outstanding hosts who blew us away with their generous hospitality. They proved to be a wealth of local knowledge and were able to help us make the most of our limited time. An amazing stay. Absolutely beautiful house with a wonderful interior decor and welcoming atmosphere. You instantly feel at home and relaxed. Michael and Paul are so hospitable and friendly, they ensure all your needs are met and create such a personal touch. Breakfast is delicious and again they ensure any dietary requirements are catered for so you have everything you need. We had a short stay but it was perfect could not have asked for anything more except to stay longer !! The house is also in perfect walking distance to city centre and botanical gardens plus other facilities that you need when in Edinburgh.

This was our first stay in a guest house and it far exceeded our expectations. The house is spectacular. The interior design is exceptional. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable for our whole visit. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Paul and Mike. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast that was provided was delicious with so many choices and all very high quality. Paul and Mike are a wealth of knowledge about dining in and around the area, and gave us much guidance about how to get where we needed to go. They also provided us with help on sightseeing and local knowledge and were always happy just to chat with us in general and showed interest in who we were and what we were up to. Mikes art also gave us much to look at while wandering about the house. Not much around Edinburgh is out of walking distance. We will not hesitate to come back to enjoy their amazing hospitality again when we visit Edinburgh next. Thank you. Mark and Heather

This is an outstanding home with many comforts and the hosts are the most welcoming and genuinely lovely people who couldn’t do enough to ensure we have a memorable stay. Would highly recommend this venue if you are planning a trip to Edinburgh.

Paul and Michael were amazing hosts. They were super helpful and accommodating. During our stay we weren’t going to be able to make breakfast one of the days and they made us a to-go packed breakfast which really shows how they go above and beyond. The rooms were also super nice and the breakfast was good and fresh.

This boutique hotel has to be seen to be believed, a mix of Georgian Hotel and an Art Gallary. Paul and Michael will do anything to help you have a fabulous stay. Great location too. Would completely recommend !

A beautiful Georgian property owned by a fantastic couple. Paul and Michael make you feel very welcome and are very gracious hosts with nothing being too much trouble. The rooms, as well as the rest of the house, are immaculate and I would highly recommend Crescent House.

We had the best three night stay at Crescent House thanks to the superb hosts Paul and Michael. The breakfasts were delicious, the rooms were comfortable, stylish and spotless and the many personal recommendations really made our trip special. This accommodation is truly unique thanks to the incredible art and the welcoming ambience. If you are going to Edinburgh, stay here.

What did we like? Everything. Genuinely hospitable hosts, who had put considerable thought and effort into every detail, to ensure their guests have the best possible experience of Edinburgh. Struggling for superlatives. What didn't we like? Having to leave. Excellent - book it now!

Had the best experience at this place. Gorgeous decor of the house really elevates the whole stay, and the Buddha breakfast is such a nice treat to start off the day. Paul and Mike run this place so well and took such great care of us. Giving us personalized recommendations and make me and my mum’s stay here the highlight of her 3 weeks trip. Would definitely highly recommend and I look forward to staying here again soon!

Paul and Michael are fantastic hosts! Wonderful conversation, readily available, and very gracious about sharing some local recommendations. The venue is a beautiful, historic townhouse and easily walkable to downtown Edinburgh. Would absolutely recommend and would stay here again!

The property, “The Crescent Hotel” was very inviting. I especially liked the art and the furnishings. Additionally, the location was good because it allowed visitors to explore a more trendy area in Edinburgh - lots of restaurants, shops, and galleries. The hosts were very helpful and gracious!!

In a word, Crescent House was splendid. The place is impeccable, very comfortable, beautifully decorated, and the owners are great hosts. We spent five days during the Edinburgh Festivals and it felt like an oasis away from the crowds, but close enough to take a good walk into the action of the city. Highly recomended. We are experienced travelers and I can tell you this place is really a gem.

Would thoroughly recommend a stay at Crescent House. It is located a short walk from town with plenty of excellent restaurant options nearby. Crescent House is beautifully done up (our room felt luxurious) and Paul and Mike’s friendly and kind hospitality made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble and there were numerous touches that made our stay at Crescent House very comfortable and extra special (e.g. great recommendations, generous and plentiful breakfast options, etc). We look forward to our next stay.
