OMG. so i would totally recommend you not stay here. Firstly, the stairs leading up to the second level are unsafe and kept dirty and fill with construction residue (i.e concrete chips and debris). front reception area, had no one there just a key laid out on the counter which i assumed was mine since i made my appointment the night before. my room was super small and when it rained i was slushing threw at least a 1/2” of water in the bathroom leaking from the light fixture. water was seeping in from the window sills and my early morning was spent mopping with a dingy mop found in the corner of the floor. frustrated and extremely tired from mopping for at least one hour. i was finally switched to the “dryer” side of the building at 11AM- flooding happened at 4AM. Then there’s the noise-yes, the noise- that starts it seems right at 7Am. it is unrelenting. the construction, i was told, will take 5-10 years. so you will have to deal with all this madness till then. i really have no idea why expedia would have such a work in progress on its site. the basis amenities was putrid at most. Ants marched to there own dump around the fridge and desk area in the room and ran single file on the make-shift scaffolding leading to the second floor. finally there’s the Odor, not sure if it’s from the wet wood, mountain or sewer runoff’s the line the street an curbs in the bay or a combination but don’t open your windows for the stench is unbearable.

It just needs blankets because the ac is very cold. And also blackout curtains would be great.

The rooms were clean. But constructions is being done on the propert which was very frustrating especially whe you wanted to sleep. It starts veryvearly in the morning with a lunch break, then backbto noise. This was hard. I also received some keys so one was not working for the outside door. It was late when i returned, I was so scared and my ride had already left. There was no receptionist. A part from this every thing else met the grade. I would stay again but without construction being done.

I booked with this property because of the convenience to the port and shops, etc. plus because it's locally owned. However, when I booked I was not told construction was going to be taking place during my stay. I got there on a Thursday and it was constant noise from 7:15 am til early evening 24/7. I could not relax whatsoever, so I had to move to another guest house on the Monday for my remaining four days. I've reached out to Expedia and the owner about a refund, which to this day I have not been able to get a refund for the 4 days I could not stay there. If I had known they were having construction ongoing, I would not have booked there. Expedia should have been made aware of the construction so guests could know what they are up against. Therefore, their rules about booking and cancellation should be voided since I was not warned about the construction in advance. They need to do the right thing and refund me for the 4 days. I had to spend extra $$$ to go to another place. The noise was a big issue for me.

The property was nice. Staff were also pleasant and helpful. There was some work going to the property but this was not intrusive at all.

I was surprised how nice the room was. It was a good value. It seemed odd the lobby starts on the second floor after going up a set of stairs on the side of the building. It was a good quality room, a/c, nice furniture, nice bathroom with shampoo, body wash, plenty of towels etc. They were currently doing construction while I was there which was a bit noisy. Hopefully over by the time you read this. The neighborhood around is okay, looks a little sketch at night but fine. There is a really good restaurant at the Palm Courts Gardens about a 3/4 mile walk. Also great for lunch with nice views.

When we scheduled a very last minute trip to St Kitts to look at some properties, we decided to stay in the City vs. the beach resorts. We were lucky enough to meet the owner of The Colosseum, Homer, who was extremely kind, accommodating, helpful and gracious. The little 'market' on the 1st floor was extremely convenient for anything additional that we needed. We will be spending a lot of time in St. Kitts over the next few years as my son attends Ross College and I assure you, the Colosseum will be on the top of my list to stay. I am super excited to see the continued growth and transformation of this amazing addition to the waterfront area.
