We’ve stayed in some so-so places, some pretty good, some quite nice and once in a while, somewhere fantastic. Palace Stefalio was just that. Incredible. We’d meant to stay just one night in our whirlwind tour of Croatia but Marina, her dad Thomas, were so helpful and the place so incredibly charming, tucked in the middle of the medieval maze of Trogir, we extended to three nights - a century for us - and loved every minute. Marina upgraded us to a larger room when she saw it was Laurie’s birthday and she fixed us up with perfect tips and advice. We had to rip ourselves away.

complicated parking, it should be explained in the hotel description to avoid frustration and added costs - if there are two of you, one waits in the car at the parking area off the island near the foot bridge while the other one crosses over and hunts for the hotel...make sure you do not enter the parking lot gates until after you check in and get the parking pass

Our stay was a wonderful blur as it was our first and last night in Trogir (and our first introduction to Slivovichia)! Nice place and wonderfully patient host! Thanks!

The Stafileo Palace was perfect for our stay. We needed a place to stay before starting the week's sailing cruise. The Stafileo provided us a safe, quiet and clean accommodation in the heart of the delightful old town of Trogir. The building dates back to the 15th Century, yet the insides werde recently remodeled and provided a small kitchen unit including a fridge! Boutiques, shops, restaurants and the port were just around the corners, yet the hotel was peaceful and quiet. No noise, no smell of restaurants... :-) Wifi always worked and the owners went out of their way to help if we had any questions.

Wonderful old building and the hosts went out of there way. It is not flash but is very comfortable and as it is in the old city it is very handy to everything Negative is that it is not easy to find and you have to carry bags etc about 100m over cobblestone streets to get to it. If you are on the third floor it is hard to carry the bags up the narrow stairs. We recommend this hotel

Pros: excellent, warm and helpful owners, good price, fairly good room, good air conditioning in room, daily maid service, (and they did my laundry!!) quiet, safe, 15th century courtyard., bed was comfy. Owner helped me with daily sightseeing-excursion plans. Her twin babies are cute! Cons: older furniture in room, poor TV reception for English channels in evening hours, difficult and slippery cobblestone streets and steep stairs for those with mobility problems, no credit cards but cash only (make sure you understand that owner talks in Euros only and not dollars or kunas); difficult to find in alley and owners not always available at desk or door when needed, you need to call for them behind their curtain of their private apartment--bell at desk would help. I would return to this hotel!

This Hotel is a little gem right in the heart of Trogir -- most places are as Trogir isn't very big. The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. It was extremely quiet here at night which is difficult to find in Trogir. Our only complaint was the pillows were so hard as was the couch. Certainly recommend this place!

Hotel was very clean. Centrally located. Nice old town. However, Trojir had more souvenir shops than other towns we have visited in Croatia. And a little more aggressive sales people.

Enjoyed a good Welcome service and everything was within walking distance. Only negative issue was a very unstable wifi system, giving me trouble with onwards bookings. The staff was helpful in trying to rectify, but it cost me a lot of wasted time.

Staff were friendly and the room was adequate. This was in the middle of the old city and the hotel can only be accessed by foot, on cobblestoned streets, which was much different than I had expected. Parking was blocks away. Not the best place if you are looking for easy in and out. Great if you are interested in exploring Troggir and in being in a 15th century building in the middle of the old city.

This was a great place to stay. Right in the heart of the old city of Trogir, we really couldn't have done better. Through no fault of their own, the Hotel had no rooms available for us, but they already had made a plan to utilise a friends newly furbished hotel apartment. The only negative is the parking and instructions should be sent out at the time of booking, so that you don't have to move your car around and try to find parking pre checking in. Great staff and I would really recommend this hotel.

Lobby was not open when we arrived in the early afternoon and had to call. Addresses in Trogir are difficult to locate in general, some additional directions to find the hotal would be helpful. Once you find it, it is easy to navigate around. You will only be able to pay for the hotel in cash, even if you book online with Expedia. The room was nice and the hotel was quiet. We were only able to stay one night, but would have stayed additional days if we were in town for longer.

Small friendly hotel. Marina on reception was exceptionally helpful. Rooms very well maintained and clean. The location is excellent, however finding it without prior knowledge of location wasn't that easy, but this is not Stafileos' fault. The allocated parking on the other side of the river was not at all easy to find. A better map or instructions would be a great help. Reception had a pleasant area for sitting and enjoying the dried figs and three types of local drinks.. a nice touch
