It was built in the 1830s, as I recall. It is very pretty. Huge garden. Beautiful stained glass windows. An interesting walking path or two. We had a large balcony that was very nice. We were there on night so we did not get to take advantage of everything. I would recommend at least two nights if you want to take advantage of everything available.

Wonderful spa experience in a spectacular mountain setting. Views for miles. Lovely staff and very good meals. Lots of healthy thermal waters nearby. Hotel rooms are spacious and comfortable. Recommend this hotel and surrounding area.

Age and beauty of building. Did not care for the idea of a buffet supper. Was expecting a sit down meal. Waiter was a complete snot.

We spent a lovely night at the Hunguest Hotel Palota. The breakfast and dinner buffets were both quite good with many selections. The hot chocolate drink selections in the lobby bar were amazing. The spa and various pools were heavenly and quite extensive. The location was very good for hiking the following day. We hiked for about 4 miles and never saw another person.

The hotel was a bit far from the city center, would have been great if there was hotel transportation service. Otherwise everything else was good.

Beautiful building but failed on everything else, wanted to like the hotel but too many bad points. Food at breakfast and dinner was terrible it was included in the price but the last night I didn't eat there because it was do bad. Sorry to say I will never go back.

We had a really great time with my family! People were friendly and very helpful as well. We will definitely come back next year! The location is amazing!

A beautiful property with an interesting history. Staff were all wonderful and helpful. The food was also amazing. The area around the property is picturesque. Only complaint is that the equipment in fitness room was old, only partially functioning and in desperate need of upgrade/replacement.

The castle is beautiful from the outside and the location is beautiful, but the inside of the hotel needs major work. The room is not worth the price per night. Our room was not ready for 2 hours. This is unacceptable. Our rooms smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We were able to move rooms thankfully. We also had a lady bug infestation at the balcony and windows so we could not open them which made the room so hot and stuffy. There are no fans or air conditioning. This hotel is in the 2-3 star range. Maybe if the price was way lower then it would be more acceptable. This hotel has potential though to be much better down the road with some changes

It was simply wonderful. Beautiful hotel and beautiful surroundings. Perfect place for a few days rest.

Historic hotel full of amenities. Breakfast and dinner buffet are great. Happy hour is a bonus. Spa services are great. Beautiful hotel and surroundings! Very relaxing. I would come back.

Romantic atmosphere with the live guitar music during breakfast

Stunning location in the heart of the Bukk national park. The room was magnificent, clean and recently decorated. The bar area is nothing short of EPIC, we loved playing chess and watching the real fire. The food is marvellous with the best in Hungarian cuisine. The wellness Center is lovely and SOOO relaxing and peaceful. Simply superb.

This hotel is in a great location. It’s so calm and beautiful we both felt very relaxed. We love the area and the views. This will be a place we come back to again and again.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Palota. The hotel itself is beautiful and has lots to do nearby. The terrace and gardens are absolutely beautiful. The spa area is impressive! Lots of pools and sauna rooms to enjoy. There is also a pretty good fitness room which had a good variety of equipment. Our room was good; however, we requested a king bed but received a double. Some of the staff were helpful and polite but we did encounter a couple that were not. In the spa and dining rooms staff would start to kick you out 10-15 minutes before the closing time. It's one thing to give a reminder but something else to actually make you leave early. The dinner buffet was ok. The selection and quality/taste leaves something to be desired. The breakfast buffet however was very good. Lots of variety of cereals, fruit, yogurts, meats (hot and cold), cheese and eggs. We actually looked forward to our breakfast every morning!!
