Balcony was not clean and furniture was uncomfortable! Parking great! Room baseboards could use a cleaning and floor a better clean. When I walk into the foyer I almost walked back out for it looked like it had not been vacuumed for at least a whole month! It was way over priced.

Excellent location out of tourist strip. Quiet rooms and very clean. Some issues with sticking doors and broken shower curtain but overall a good choice. Staff were extremely helpful but very busy managing the takeout business. The real sleeper about this location is the attached Chinese Takeout. Some of the best Chinese takeout I’ve ever had.

There was no hot water . The power went out. The room smelt of marijuana. Unfortunately it was the worst establishment we have ever been in.

nice room with a private side yard for the handful of rooms. quick walk down the road to the beach to play and swim. french press and the inn's roasted coffee is such a nice touch!

Meh. This place is mediocre at best. Clearly need to renovate the place.

The property was quite old and tired and it felt isolated. No restaurant close by. Although you could drive into Kenora if you had a car, it was a challenge to find a restaurant that had working air conditioning during the heat wave we were experiencing. There was no breakfast available on site…no liquor licence. Our room was tidy and reasonably clean however the shower curtain was hanging from a rod that could fall off at any time! No soap on the first night…fortunately we had our own! The room was functional but drab and the only window was at the top of the entrance door and most of it was frosted to prevent peepers I suppose! Access to the lake was obscure and limited to a tiny beach, which I think was accessible to public. Virtually no view from the tiny door window which overlooked the parking lot. The lake was separated by a road at a lower elevation and was obscured from view by a stand of trees. Needless to say we won’t be rushing back!

The room had an odor, was covered in dead bugs, and was incredibly humid. No staff were able to help at the front desk. Very disappointed in our stay.

Great location close to a beach. Room was clean. Good communication with staff as we were arriving late. My only issue is the price, quite expensive.

While the photos look beautiful, the reality of the state of this establishment, tells a different story. The beds in these rooms were AWFUL! They are spring beds and you could tell them are quite old. You could feel the springs when you laid down and it made for a VERY uncomfortable sleep. The floors were sticky. They looked clean but were very sticky, as if someone washed them and left the soap on the floor to dry. The landscape is shrubby and unkempt. No flowers or maintained grass. The playground area had grass up to my waist and the swing looked to be more than 50 years old. I would not stay here again. This place needs some major upgrades. It has the potential to be a 5 star hotel, but just needs someone to put in the love.

Charming hotel. Updated & clean rooms. Grounds around the hotel could be cleaner but overall enjoyed out time there

The room appeared to be rather outdated and had an unpleasant odor. The beds were not as clean as one might hope, and there were numerous insects present. Given the nightly rate of $250, a higher standard of maintenance and upkeep for the property would have been anticipated.

Good place to stop over. Food is great.

Staff was not very helpful no ice machine, suggested I walk to the store and purchase a bag of ice, this property could be fabulous and probably was at one time but upkeep has not happened, not worth the$350/ night

The beds and linens were exceptional. The hotel is very quaint.

Tried to cancel about 47 hours before the stay because of a death in the family. No one answered the phone. Then sent an email. The response from the motel stated that the “policy” was that cancellations had to be made 48 hours before so we would be charged for one night. No compassion here.

Terrible place! Stay somewhere else!

The place is a dump!! Run down! The room we had had a very bad urine mould and musty smell. The white bedding had dirt on them from previous. We asked to change rooms but the other room had the same smell! Not as advertised in pictures etc! This place charges big bucks for basically a flop house. Stay away!! Also, the restaurant is filthy!
