We arrived later in the evening and were greeted by a friendly front desk host who provided helpful information about the hotel amenities and recommended the best place to park based on the location of our room. The lobby was clean, welcoming and nicely renovated, creating a great first impression.
Our room was on the second floor, which wasn’t an issue for us, but it’s worth noting there is no elevator, so it could be challenging for anyone with mobility concerns or heavy luggage.
The room itself was clean and had also been nicely updated. Unfortunately, there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke that lingered throughout our stay. By the time we left the next morning, our clothes and belongings had absorbed the smell as well.
The hotel is also pet friendly, which is great for those travelling with pets. However, we were beside a room with a dog that barked periodically. If you choose to stay here, I’d recommend asking whether your room is in a pet-friendly area and requesting a non-smoking room, as it appeared we may have been assigned a room where smoking had previously occurred. Since it was already after 10 p.m. when we arrived, we decided not to request a room change.
Overall, the staff were wonderful, the location is convenient, and the renovations are a nice improvement. We would consider staying again, but next time we’d be sure to request a non-smoking room away from pets to make the experience even better.
