This hotel is excellent and in the heart of Bad Ischl. 10 min walk from the train station. Idyllic town and scenery.

The family room had plenty of space for me and my two adult children. The staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast included was very good! We ate dinner at the restaurant and there were many options and the food and service was good.

The two girls that helped me out were extremely helpful and kind. One was a bit newer, the other had been there a while. They went out of their way to let me in the gym until they closed, as well as helped me out with tea, and recommendation. I didn’t have wifi in my room and they did their best to get the wifi situated in a way that helped me. I didn’t end up getting better signal, but it was the effort on their part that showed me they were willing to go above and beyond. Close trip to Hallstatt, and Bad Ischl itself was beautiful. Wish there were more open food options but if you look hard enough or ask for recommendations you can find a couple good ones. Great location right by the water, restaurant had a fantastic steak, and breakfast buffet was also very good. Will return one day.

Property is right by the river and has plenty of dining options nearby. Close to bus and train station. Fantastic breakfast.

I clearly stated 2 adults + 2 children when ordering a "Family Room" pictured showing bunk beds for the children. I was charged an additional 90 Euros (45/child) and was told they charge for the number of people in the room regardless of my disclosure of four people at the outset. As I see it, I paid 90 extra Euros to rent two towels.

We stayed at the hotel for one night. A very good hotel. Our room is clean, comfortable, and efficient. Breakfast is top notch. Staff members are friendly and helpful.

They are completely refurbishing Goldenes Schiff, it will soon be a modern great hotel with all amenities.

everybody talks about how good their service is. The team at Goldenes Schiff is way ahead: their hospitality, friendliness, cordiality, professionalism is second to none. Trust me on that.

The reservation said parking was included, but it wasn't and the lot wasn't terribly far, but was still inconvenient. We got charged extra for our dog, which is fine, but this should have been indicated when making the reservation.

Fantastic hotel located on the river in Bad Ischl. We had a room with balcony over looking the river and the surrounding countryside wish is stunning. Wonderful wellness centre on the first floor. Breakfast excellent and only reason I didn’t give full marks for service was that there were internet issues on a couple of days…. Not the fault of the hotel I’m sure. Great spot for exploring the magnificent countryside surrounding this town.

Location is great, my room was great but the staff (with exception of one wonderful person) were absolutely awful. After three months traveling Europe this was one of the worst experiences I had. I’m a seasoned traveler and can roll with just about anything but I can not tolerate unfriendly, unhelpful people, and biased people. I asked for information that I was unable to find myself (obviously) and the staff members reaction was “ Why couldn’t you look that up and figure it out on your own ? (pointing to my iPad) I honestly couldn’t believe it. If this is her reaction to a foreigner asking a question then she is in the wrong industry. The appropriate response should have been, how can I help you? Yes, I’d be glad to. Is there anything else I can help you with? Apart from that, there were some other incidents which would be in appropriate to list here. Hotel has great potential but they need better staff.
