Seeing the refurbishment start around three years ago and the planned graphics we wanted to try this on return visits to the city. The finished article when we stayed last week exceeded our expectations - Brilliant. Tastefully decorated and furnished in all areas Rooms - the house keeping very good. Staff Friendly , professional and always helpful going above and beyond with their good service. Breakfast?........Make sure your hungry for the full English but if not so there is a comprehensive selection of Pastries ,Cereals and Toast complimented with fruits spreads and juices etc. Parking is available in a dedicated customer facility just a short walk from the main building. In busy times of the seasons it would be advisable to book at the time of reserving your room. Overall the White Hart is excellent value for money and a thoroughly enjoyable experience in the most perfect location being less than a five minute stroll from the Cathedral , Castle and Steep hill. Do we plan to return...........Most definately.

This hotel is in an historic part of Lincoln. Despite its age it is in excellent condition with lovely large well equipped rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is parking in an area on the other side of the road to the hotel. The restaurant provides a cooked to order breakfast which was very good. We had dinner on both nights of our stay which we very much enjoyed.

Never been to Lincoln so overall loved the place. A mixture of modern and boutique shops and cafe/bars and the hotel was the icing on the cake. Lovely scenery literally next to the cathedral. Clean and friendly from the moment we arrived. Room was huge and tasteful as well as clean airy. Was quite noisy on the evening as were on the main road but didn’t stop us sleeping in the massive comfy bed. Elemis products to use was a fabulous wow factors and then breakfast…what can I say, delicious! We went out elsewhere to eat but came and sat in the bar and it was a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back…thank you White Hart

Room was spacious and the bathroom was equally big! Everything was clean and. Well presented. Due to being old however the room was very warm. Stay still very enjoyable and being next to the cathedral and the castle was a definite bonus.

We have stayed at The White Hart several times and always enjoyed our visits. This time was in the middle of the heat wave and the temperature outside was in excess of 32 degrees. The hotel room was exceeding hot and there was no fan which given the heat, we thought there would of been one in the room as standard. Hopefully this be changed by our next visit, especially as we seem to be having many more hot spells

The White Hart is ideally placed at the top of Steep Hill with easy access to the castle and cathedral. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance in addition to the hotel's own a la carte and bar food menus. The shower and other plumbing were excellent which was all the more impressive given the age of the hotel and it's location at such an elevation. The negative of our stay was the oppressive heat in our room despite the two fans provided. Planning restrictions prevent the installation of air conditioning. We were there during a minor heat wave, (25 / 26 degrees), I feel for those staying in those rooms when the temperature is even higher. We never ate at the hotel restaurant other than for breakfast which was very good, great fruit selection. The service was a bit disorganised however, there were plenty of staff available but perhaps the kitchen struggled to meet the demand with the facilities available.

Everything was good apart from the room. First room offered a the kitchen extraction unit running past the window which was extremely loud. Second room was quieter however was in the attack so incredibly confined and hot. We actually left at midnight as even with a fan, and no heatwave the room was just too hot.

The hotel was lovely and had a lot of character and located perfectly in the city. However the issue for us was the lack of communication from the hotel. We were emailed prior to our stay requesting us to reply if we wanted to park at the car park which I did but received no response. I also emailed asking if there was air con or if fans could be provided since we were in a heatwave but again, no response. Had they said there would be no way to cool the room down I'd have probably have exercised my free cancellation and booked elsewhere as the heat was unbearable and as the room doesn't even have proper windows to open to let air in I couldn't make it any cooler either. Similarly they didn't reply to say we couldn't park there so on arrival we rang them to check only to find it was fully booked as was every other car park in the area meaning we spend a lot more than planned on parking. Breakfast in the restaurant was slow to arrive, we had to ask three times for our drinks too. Overall a lovely hotel but we would be unlikely to return purely based on the hotels communication

Lovely and handy for the castle for an event. However at £200 a night I would expect Aircon or at least a fan in the room. There were no cups for tea in the room. Despite 34degree temps and asking twice all we were offered was a small fan. Bed was comfy but as it was unprecedentedly hot it was difficult to sleep. Not the hotels fault that it was so warm but really they should cater for paying guests. The bar snacks were very poor, calamari was inedible and for £18 I expected more that 5 falafel, 8 olives and burned calamari. Disappointed overall.

A lovely unique old school hotel. Very nice staff & good old fashioned service. An excellent breakfast & good options on the drinks. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room & a nice little fridge with a couple of bottles of water in. I was also lucky to be able to use the hotel car park which is nearby & was included in the price. The only problem was the lack of air conditioning in the room. With ridiculously high temperatures whilst we were there made for an uncomfortable night. Overall a great place to stay & I would strongly recommend it.
