Moldy hotel with really bad management. Rooms stink and are worn out. No eating by the pool and loud roosters that keep you awake through the night.

The staff at Te Moana went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The facility is beautiful. We had a wonderful sunset cruise as well as a great snorkel trip aboard their boat. Highly recommend this resort!

Location was good to walk to other food options. Bar overlooking water to Moorea was a great area to sit and swim out in the ocean. Rooms although a good size were musty (we stayed twice and had 2 different room types and both very musty). Rooms need updating - very worn and look and feel dirty even if they have been cleaned.

Rooms musty and in need of renovation - pricey for state of the rooms. Liked it was a convenient location to walk to other food options as the restaurant is expensive - especially for Kiwis and Aussies. Rooms are a good size and resort has potential to be great with an upgrade done as it has overall appeal until you get closer.

Te Moana offers a peaceful alternative to downtown Papeete, with stunning views of Moorea, immaculate landscaping, and friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are impressively spacious, more like small apartments, with beautiful ocean views. The swim-up bar and oceanfront restaurant add to the appeal, and on-site activities like kayaking were a nice bonus. However, the resort is in urgent need of renovation. The pull-out couches were stained and worn, the fridge didn’t close properly due to a loose cabinet, and there was a persistent sewer odor when running water. Housekeeping was another disappointment. For a hotel that charges a resort fee, you would expect at least basic amenities like complimentary soaps and shampoo, but those were not provided. More importantly, the room was not cleaned thoroughly. Sand from the beach remained on the floor, suggesting it was not vacuumed, and though the bed was made, sand left all over. Bar drinks were $20 to $25, likely due to local alcohol taxes, although off-site venues didn’t charge the same. Renting a car was $80 per day with a surprising $1,200 deposit. Travel Tip: Taxis are cash only and overpriced, with no ATM on-site. Expect high costs and limited dining options. Ferries to Moorea can be expensive with a car, about $300 for four people. Tahiti is beautiful, but heavily geared toward extracting tourist dollars. Te Moana has potential, especially being locally owned, but wait until renovations are complete.

Great pool and beach area. 2 pool bars and great service by the staff. Wonderful place to relax! Also, I love that they have showers for people with late night flights so we could enjoy our last day in Tahiti without worries.

The hotel rooma are very out dated and not as clean as it should be. The only thing that offsets the room is the location - outdoor in the back on the water front and how close it is to the airport. The vents, furniture, and walls were dirty. Bath robe and slippers were very dingy, one pair with "washed" dirt visibly showing on the slippers. The bed was very low and very firm, with two twin beds pulled together - the dip and trim in the middle easily felt and uncomfortable. Staff was a hit and miss as far as friendliness. Although those at the front desk were multi-lingual - switching from french, to English to the native language with each guest. Breakfast was ok - beware when wating outside...there are roosters, chickens, and birds that jump on the chairs and tables and literally in people's plate the minute they walk away- even if someone else is ay the table.

The property was nice and had very spacious rooms like suites with a kitchen. I would give it a 5 if they had a beach. However, very good places to eat to the right of the resort. They give you very large portions for $25 and below. No restaurants do that. They cook your food on the grills outside. If I didn't see smoke, we didn't eat there. It is better to rent a car. The resort have free parking and that is a plus for anyone. Also you can swim in the nice pool or the natural ocean water pool next to the restaurant. That is very unique. You also get to see all the great waves and surfers. Overall, great place to stay

This resort listing is misleading. The pictures make it look well kept and updated but everywhere we looked it seemed in need of a good overhaul. Our room was dirty and needed a good cleaning and fresh paint. The pool water fountains were not working, the bike in the fitness center was broken. It just needs a little care. The only big positive was the staff, VERY friendly and helpful.

It was a pretty view and not too far to walk to the store. The reservation said free water but we only were given 1 bottle for our whole stay. We were eligible for a drink package but i was told it wasn't on our reservation, thankfully i printed the paperwork and brought it with me. The fee and price conversion didn't add up, we were charged more.

The hotel is nice but there was no hospitality here. We arrived when the storm came in so it was not a great day. The staff were very cold and not helpful. We were tired and just want to grab dinners at the hotel. First we need reservation. We called to reserve our spots and were told that they do not accept reservation and dinners were not available. We are glad that we only stayed one night here.

We stayed at Te Moana 10 years ago and it was nice, but they’ve done numerous improvements since then and the outdoor space and water front bar is simply amazing! We were a little bummed to only be staying one night en route to other islands; it would have been great to spend a day or two enjoying the pool and lagoon.

I had to ask about my beverage credit and was told i didnt have one. I showed my email that said otherwise. I also booked another night since we arrived around 5AM and was told this would be the only way to guarantee getting in early. We were told when we arrived they were 2 different rooms and would have to change about 2. Just before noon we were somewhat pressured to hurry up and change rooms as quick as possible.
