There was nobody on reception when we arrived on reception at approximately 3:30 p.m. We then realised that we had to pick a telephone up on the reception desk that rang somebody. A grumpy lady then came to check us in. The restaurant staff were lovely and helpful and the gentleman we paid was very helpful. The hotel is old and needs freshening up. It looks dirty and run down on the landings

I imagine its just the age of the hotel showing and not so much the upkeep. We reserved this after showing up to 5 Themes and it being a room in the owners house. We weren’t comfortable staying there so we stayed here. It was the right decision. Definitely not a bad place and I won’t talk bad about it but I do think they could change a few things. That is all

Great hotel right in heart of town

Breakfast good, staff polite ,no usb sockets in bedroom, no bath,no sitting area outside unless you were having a meal, no meals served on Sunday night’s,

A one night stopover on our way south. Definitely will be back. An excellent hotel with fantastic food and friendly staff. The town of Bagnoles de l’Orne definitely needs a return visit.

Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff - top drawer. Slightly frayed, but quaint and a nice change from the chains. Easy on site parking. Easy walk to restaurants and the lake.

I stayed in one of the superior rooms (I think that’s what it’s called) and there was lots of space and a big terrace to sit out on and enjoy the sunset. The bed was large and comfortable although whilst I did not hear any noise from outside, I certainly heard other residents coming and going from their rooms. There is no air-conditioning in the room. Not a showstopper, but just something to note. Everything was very clean however, the shower which is located in the bath could really do with a shower curtain. It’s very difficult to have a shower without flooding the bathroom floor. I had dinner in the attached restaurant and I have to say it was the best food I ate in France for my entire trip. I sat outside and watched the world go by and I really enjoyed the experience. The staff were excellent and I cannot rate them highly enough. I would however suggest that one additional member of staff is on duty in the mornings for breakfast. The lady that was on duty did a superb job but there was certainly too much work for one person to manage the breakfast and the front desk, while guests are checking out and other guests are eating breakfast. The car park is small, but adequate. There were several cars and motorcycles parked up and whilst it is not a secure car park it certainly feels safe.

Excellent stay and value for money.Lots of place to eat within walking distance. Room very comfortable and had everything you need. Breakfast extra but worth the price.

Lovely hotel room with balcony in the best location in town. Excellent food in the restaurant - we ate outside on a warm evening and watched the world go by. Restaurants, coffee shops and bespoke gift shops are just a stone's throw from the front door and the lake is a couple of minutes' walk. Would highly recommend. The bathroom was somewhat dated but typical of a 3-star French hotel.

Small hotel on town square. Lovely helpful hosts. Lovely room with patio outside overlooking pretty town centre. Numerous little restaurants nearby.

It was great right in the centre of a beautiful town with plenty of restaurant's...perfect for an overnight stay.

Well situated, clean, comfortable and nice view. Godd value too.

We stopped over at the Bagnoles Hotel for one night on both our outward and homeward journey through France, we were very pleasantly surprised by our room which was very comfortable and nicely decorated, and to top it all we had a lovely terrace overlooking the town. On both nights we ate in the hotel, alfresco on the first night and then in the restaurant on our second night on the way home. The food was of a good standard and nicely presented. Breakfast was simple but quite adequate.
