Had a wonderful one night stay, spotlessly clean and lovely helpful staff

Very clean, comfortable beds and a lovely breakfast 😋

A lovely place to stay with genuinely attentive and kind staff who made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and very family-friendly — even the other guests were friendly, which added to the experience. It felt comfortable and homely, and I’d happily stay again.

Abbots Mead is a real find, excellent value for money in a central location to explore Shrewsbury on foot. The bedroom was small but clean and nicely presented. The bathroom was a little cramped but was clean and functional. All the staff that we met were friendly and helpful, a credit to the hotel. The parking arrangement is not ideal, but central location makes it a real plus point as is worth the effort to occasionally move to let someone out. Leaving the car keys at reception was a surprise, but not a personal issue (but it might be for some). Breakfast was a real highlight, freshly cooked produce presented by friendly and attentative waiting staff.

Rooms were clean and staff were helpful. Had booked a room with a double bed. It was small - more three quarters size. Room was also small and the bathroom was tiny. Noise from other rooms adjacent (light switches being turned on) was more than you would expect, and when taps were run or toilets flushed in adjacent rooms it was very loud. Cooked breakfast was below par - ingredients seemed to be basic/cheap. Car parking is tight and easy for your car to be blocked in. No water supplied to drink in rooms and only 2 tea bags provided for a double room with 2 people staying. Not a terrible hotel but for £145 a night in Shrewsbury we expected more.

Nice little hotel in a convenient and lovely location. Charming old building with original features. The staff were very helpful. I would stay here again.

The room was spotless and well stocked with tea coffee etc. The bathroom is very small and the shower difficult to get right. The staff were really helpful and friendly and dealt with any concerns immediately. Breakfast is excellent. Parking is difficult but the staff very helpful and will move a car if needed for the one behind to get out.

Stayed for one night. Room was small with a double bed. Bathroom was fine. The staff were lovely at check in and breakfast was good.

Breakfast was delicious. Room was clean but a little compact but staff were lovely. Ideal location for exploring the town centre and river walks. Great stay.
