Warm and friendly greeting on arrival, easy check in. Key was in the door and the Granville room was beautiful - spotlessly clean and great facilities. Four poster bed, complimentary coffee machine and tea making facilities. Add on a spacious double sofa and en-suite made this a lovely stay. There can be a bit of road noise given the location, but this does not detract from the overall character of the property. Evening meal was amazing - they catered for our carnivore diet and prepared a mixed grill that was cooked to perfection. Meal for two with a bottle of wine, double gin and a baileys was just over £100 which was worth every penny! Breakfast included was also high quality, with locally sourced meats and again delicious. Accompanied by a decent cup of coffee got the day off to a good start. This is a venue we'll certainly return to again - thank you to Richard and Robert for being amazing hosts :-)

Overall our stay was lovely. The only thing I had problems with was the shower it was so slow coming out. And the TV in our room that was on the wall you couldn’t see because of the four poster bed pole was in the way

Had a very warm and friendly welcome, dinner & breakfast were both delicious. We were walking the Tamara coast to coast and they very kindly agreed to look after our big rucksack so we could collect it after we’d completed the last couple of days

We enjoyed a wonderful stay, we were made very welcome and the room (Granville) was absolutely lovely. The bed was very comfortable and there was ample tea coffee chocolate supplies in the room. The staff were very friendly, proficient and professional. There are no negatives. Thank you for a lovely evening we hope to visit again.

Lovely hotel full of character and great hosts

My room was spacious, spotlessly clean and, as an added bonus, came with a coffee machine so no terrible instant coffee in the morning. The food took what was already an excellent stay to another level at both breakfast and dinner with amazing food. The two men running things also strike the perfect balance of friendly, attentive and relaxed to make you feel welcome. When I’m next in the area I’ll definitely be staying again.

We needed a room for one of our workers for just one night. He was greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Made a bacon sandwich for our man to take to work with him as he started work prior to when breakfast was due to start. He said it was the best bacon sandwich he had ever had.!

Excellent place to stay! The owners are wonderful, accommodating and fabulous chefs! The room is sparkling clean roomy and quiet for a sound rest. Would highly recommend!

A lovely characterful hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked and home made touches appreciated. Room was spacious and comfortable. It was very quiet and convenient for the North Cornwall and Devon coast. We would most definitely go back again!
