Really liked this hotel and would like to visit again one day. The only problem was the noise from the bar area but as it’s known for it’s entertainment and once it closed it was quiet enough to sleep.

In the area to attend an event at the MKBowl. So we're arriving early and then back at hotel late. Hotel (Christine) was very good in allowing us to collect our keys. Christine was very good in explaining procedure as well as checking us in etc. WiFi and parking was good, and breakfast was excellent.

Lovely room. Hotel allowed me to collect key 10am as I was heading to Brighton and back. Much appreciated. Lovely hotel in a lovely village. Booked for event at MK Bowl - an easy drive.

I booked this hotel because they were holding a ticketed “Tea & Jazz” afternoon to celebrate VE Day 80th anniversary. When I phoned to book the ticket I was promised a nice room. In reality it was far from great. The floor was uneven which meant the bed sloped in two directions - which wasn’t conducive to a good night’s sleep. It was a clean room with a clean bathroom, although the sink basin was partially blocked - as the water was slow to drain away. The room also had a clothe storage area with an ironing board and hairdryer etc. It also had the usual tea & coffee provisions, and an adequate TV. However, both bedside lights had insecure shaded that leaned to one side and at least one of the shades was grubby. The bathroom door squeaked and requires a touch of oil or grease, and the secondary glazing meant that the windows couldn’t easily be cleaned and they were a bit grubby and had cobwebs between the window and the secondary glazing - which wasn’t that efficient as I could hear cars driving by in the quiet of night. I didn’t rate the sandwiches and cakes at the “tea and jazz” event as they seemed dry and bland to me. The breakfast was adequate but the baked beans were served barely warm on the first morning, and the bacon was overcooked on both mornings. I did have a sirloin steak and chips on the second night but the chips were served barely warm and I didn’t enjoy them. When I told the waitress she just said she would inform the chef. All in all it wasn’t a great stay

Cleanliness was OK. My problem is that even though I am hard of hearing I could hear another TV. Also, the window was jammed open (it was a cool night (7/5). I prefer room 30 for example, not the older rooms. Can I specify this when booking? Ta.

The outside window would not close and the secondary window would not fully close, the photo shows a desk with a chair of which I had neither. Not worth the money as it is winter it is unacceptable very disappointing as I have stayed there before and it was quiet nice, will not stay again

Very old pub, could do with some modernisation. I know it has small windows but the lights in the room were really dim. Just looking a bit tired. Food was lovely although service slow - only 1 person really waiting at breakfast with a large number of guests - she did a good job though.
