This is a small hotel/motel that was recently renovated. The owners were fantastic and accommodating. The room was clean and quiet enough since it is located on a busy street. There is ample parking and is located near many restaurants. The room was on the small size and there was no microwave therefore the 4 rating for comfort. Would definitely stay again!

This place is charming, clean, and comfy at an affordable price, and the staff kindly let us check in slightly early so we could drop off our bags and make it in time to a family memorial. It's also conveniently located to shopping, dining, and beaches. Highly recommend for travelers on a budget. Although the room's smallish, slightly worn with age, and could use a bathroom outlet - it served our simple needs perfectly! I'd definitely come back.

I wish I could give this place 100/10!! Dave and Annmarie were so great and nice. My boyfriend and I needed a last minute stay but we didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg and I wanted something with great reviews and very clean. Turns out I got everything I wanted and more! The bed was extremely comfortable, blankets were clean and super soft, no carpet which we loved, bathroom was spotless, had everything we needed and the AC was strong and worked great. The room was simple yet perfect, and I can’t even begin to describe how clean it was. Dave was quick and responsive to anything we needed (they live down the street) and the property was quiet and felt very safe. We will 1000% be coming back soon!

The location was perfect for exploring the town with many beautiful beaches, and walking and bike trails very close by as well. And the cohost, Harvey was as adorable and charming as they come! We were pleasantly surprised to find out that West Coast Surf & Stay is family owned and operated. From the moment we inquired about an early check-in, we were greeted with the best hospitality So Cal has to offer. Great location with many food and shopping options within walking distance. My husband and I were very happy with our stay and will be back.

Loved our stay at West Coast. Dave was amazing and so welcoming/communicative. Our place was so clean and we only stayed 1 night but wish we had longer. Room had a very nice kitchen and living room. Bedroom was very spacious. Very retro feeling, quaint and had nice touches. We'll be back! The hotel is Just down the road from Main Street in San Clemente which has so many great places to eat and shop. It is a family owned hotel which we loved since it's nice to support local run business.

The owners and managers went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Close to excellent cafes and diners. Close to the beach. Close to I-5. Quiet, friendly place.

A fantastic place to stay! The owners Dave and Ann Marie have worked diligently to create a unique space with and incredibly friendly vibe. Their attention to detail is evident throughout the property. From the outset they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. Their motto of catering to surfers and nice people sets the tone and you will feel right at home. The location is fantastic, near everything San Clemente has to offer, and they’ll even set you up with a day of surfing if you wish. Do yourself a favor, especially if you like to surf, or want to try, and be with good people, spend some time at the West Coast Surf and Stay, you’ll be glad you did.

Great vibes! The people running this place were very welcoming and invited us to have dinner with their family, but we were too beat from surfing. Enjoyed our short stay!

If you’re just swinging through town, or staying for the surf, this place was perfect. The owner was welcoming, Dave, and he was always checking on us to make sure we were loving our stay. Also, ask about the coffee he has in the room, a great story of why they serve it.
