Loved everything

Said they upgraded and wasn’t better also, No Mountain View. When we checked out, we were waiting for our vehicle from valet. He went past the hotel and parked it in the back alley behind the hotel. He left keys at front desk while we stood outside waiting for him to come back. They did not bring keys out or let us know where it was. We had to go to front desk and ask where our vehicle was. The response was “sorry we forgot to tell you” Also, when we arrived we asked where parking close by was, they said only valet parking, only to discover that there is a pay parking lot just across the street by the hotel which would have been much better. We are very disappointed for the price we paid for the hotel. Staff seemed to be friendly but not super competent.

We had a great stay at Element Hotel Calgary Downtown. The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. They made us feel welcome throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Calgary!

The room was spacious and well appointed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The full breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise - and food was fresh and plentiful. The area is a little distance from downtown activities - but we enjoyed the river walk into the tourist areas.

Enjoyed a night here for my birthday. Everything was clean and staff were very helpful. The location is great too, very walkable, and close to the park. Had supper at the in-house restaurant and it was delicious. We'd definitely stay again!

We had a great stay at Element Calgary Downtown! The property feels fresh, stylish, and clean, making it a wonderful base for exploring the city. Highlights of our stay: Friendly Service: Even though the venue (The Velvet) seemed a bit short-staffed, which made for a slightly longer wait time, the staff were consistently warm and friendly, and check-in/check-out went super smoothly. Spacious Suites & Kitchenette: Having the mini-kitchen with a fridge and stovetop was super convenient. The rooms are bright, modern, and very comfortable. Complimentary Breakfast: The morning breakfast had a great variety of delicious, fresh options to start the day. Great Views & Vibe: The top-floor patio lounge offers incredible views of the city, a perfect spot to relax in the evening. Prime Location: Downtown location made it easy to walk down to the river pathways, explore local spots, or get around town. Overall, a lovely stay with great amenities. We would definitely come back!

We stayed for just one night. Unfortunately, we had an early morning flight and couldn't try the included breakfast. Overall, the rooms are nice, though they don't offer much of a view. A big plus is the affordable public parking located right next to the motel.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and accommodating throughout our visit. I would recommend requesting a riverside room. While you may not get a full river view from every angle, it is definitely a much better option than the rear-facing rooms. The breakfast was quite good with a nice selection of items. The only minor drawback was that refilling the food stations could be a little slow during busy periods. The hotel offers valet parking, and the process of retrieving our car was quick and seamless, which was very convenient. One thing to note is that the hotel does not have a swimming pool, so keep that in mind if that’s an amenity you’re looking for. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with excellent service, and I would happily stay here again.

Easy check-in. Friendly and helpful staff. Just a short 3 block was to the C-Train which dropped us off at the gates to the stampede grounds (which is why we were there). A very nice roof-top restaurant.

I had an amazing four-night stay at Element by Marriott Calgary Downtown, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth by the front desk staff, who made me feel comfortable and valued right away. The room was spotless, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. Everything—from the fresh smell throughout the hotel to the crisp, clean sheets—made it feel like a home away from home. I also felt safe and at ease during my entire stay, which made the experience even better. The breakfast buffet was absolutely outstanding! There was a great variety of fresh and delicious food every morning, and it exceeded my expectations. Every dollar I spent was worth it. The excellent service, cleanliness, comfort, and relaxing atmosphere made this one of the best hotel stays I’ve had. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again when I’m back in Calgary.

Was really impressed with everything.. the housekeeping missed our cleaning 2 days into the stay.. other then that the staff was nice and friendly. Walking distance to restaurant . Would book again

Would not recommend, would never stay here again. I booked a suite - upon arrival at 5pm (checkin was 2 hours before at 3pm) I was told to wait while they checked with house-keeping if my room was ready. I asked why it wouldn’t be ready when checkin was 2 hours ago. The concierge then asked me if I’d prefer an upgrade. I wasn’t sure what would be better than a suite but I said sure. Upon getting to my room I realize concierge had lied - this room was half the size of the one I booked and paid for (it didn’t include a couch or kitchen like I had booked). They tried to tell me it was an upgrade but had downgraded me. I immediately asked to speak to the manager. They told me no manager was available but the supervisor told me they’d have the manager contact me, and moved me to the suite I had originally paid for. Upon getting to my suite house-keeping was just leaving (so my room was not ready at all and instead of saying sorry it’s not ready yet they tried to put me in a worse room hoping I wouldn’t notice). The next day I inquired at the front desk to speak to the manager as I still hadn’t heard from the manager. I also asked for fresh towels (they don’t bring them to your room unless you ask). Neither of those 2 things happened - no contact from the manager, no fresh towels. The next day I checked out and the manager said no one told her I had asked to speak with her. Staff couldn’t care less. Stay elsewhere. Way better options in the city.
