This was a great location and a cozy room. The price on Hotels.com was EXCELLENT.

The positive: The units are very nice and the location is excellent. The negative: checking in and the management. I waited for fifty minutes to check in because there was nobody at the reception desk. I called the number they provided and then emailed them and nobody responded. Eventually I was able to check in with the help of a person who I believe was the electrician (!). They were very friendly and helpful. The manager, however, never contacted me to offer an explanation or apologize. I had to reach out to them to ask why we had been kept waiting for so long. Terrible communication and service.

The room was clean and accurate to the listing. The location of the hotel is perfect since it’s near a lot of great places and has easy access to transit systems. The only issue we had was that the air conditioning wasn’t getting cool enough since we’re here in the summer. The room would get humid at some point so we’d just crack open the windows and it’d be fine, but I wish the air conditioning was a little better. Overall, it was a good place to stay :)

Very clean and pretty. Smelled good and easy to access. Only thing we needed to pay a 15$ parking per day but it is really close by, so keep this in mind. But the price was so worth it

Location is excellent if you want to be in the midst of a bustling neighborhood. The room was clean, large, and well appointed with cooking utensils and laundry pods for the in room washer/dryer. Fully functional a/c was a life saver in the humidity. Easily walkable to the metro as well as ample shops and restaurants. Because the area is lively and popular with locals and tourists, your room may not be quiet, so if that bothers you, it’s something to be aware of. However, if you enjoy high energy, seeing/hearing people out enjoying life, and being part of a local community, then this is an excellent spot. This is a good fit for independent travelers as the front desk will only check you in and out, nothing more. While they advertise that they are available 24:7 and provide a phone/whatsapp contact, we were not able to contact them in that way. In fact, since no one was as the front desk upon arrival at 6 pm, we were unable to check in or get any response from the property for over 40 min. Calls to the number were unanswered and no voicemail was enabled, and our WhatsApp messages were never read. Luckily a maintenance worker happened to be passing by and was able to contact the front desk employee at their home. Once we were provided the access code to our room and were able to check in we had no further issues.

Nice place to live there

Really liked that the property was close to the subway and so many stores, restaurants and pubs. The streets are closed to cars, so people just walk around and there are seats to just relax and enjoy the outdoors. The building is clean and quiet. The check in process was easy. We were sent the code to get into the building. Then after checking in, we got the code to the room. The room was a perfect little get away. Everything you need was there. Even a washed and dryer, cutlery, plates, glasses etc. It was spotless, and when I say that I mean the room was spotless… fridge, stove, bathroom. And very modern, and also industrial look with cement floors. The room layout is great with the washroom tucked away for privacy. I am in love with the couch. The staff were friendly and were always helpful If there was only one suggestion I could make it would be that there is a room diffuser in the main lobby and although it’s a nice touch, it was really strong. Maybe dial that back a notch. It never came into our room though. I would gladly stay there again. Michelle C

We stayed at the Cove for 4 nights in late July. We appreciated the ease of check-in and the front desk presence. Having air conditioning was also a plus. The neighborhood is nice, a little loud at times. Unfortunately, our room was near a window, which made the room smell like cigarettes occasionally. Further, it was clear that these units were put together quickly. Little things like screws missing or sprinklers not seated into the ceiling were noticeable. The unit’s floor was made of concrete, which was not the nicest experience. The walls were also quite thin, we could hear our neighbours early in the morning and late at night. Our shower had mould on the gasket near the bottom and the drywall in our unit looked like it had been through the wringer. The photos of the unit we booked did not match directly with the unit we were placed in. The staff at the Cove were very helpful and they were definitely an asset. It’s not the best hotel, nor is it the worst. It’s somewhere between a 2.5 and 3.5 out of 5; depending on the room you get.

Parfait pour des vacances en famille.

This is our trusted Montreal hotel, we come back every year. Comfortable, clean and great location

We chose this place for the location and it largely met our expectations. Be aware: there is no parking at hotel and do not park overnight in outdoor lots in MTL. The two groups ahead of us had issues getting their rooms (something about needing to do extra cleaning). Once our turn (~20min), we were given our room with no issue, but a little annoying as this could have been done electronically (they just give you a door code). The room was clean and everything worked well (we used the washer dryer, but none of other appliances). A little frustrating how they cheap out on the small stuff — only two super thin towels that shed all over you, conditioner was actually just another shampoo… they did provide a detergent pod. So my advice: bring nice towels, shampoo/conditioner and plan indoor parking (we used the one across the street from the Maxi).

Overall our experience at the Cove was good! We had some challenges with our room code and then another incident happened that required us to move rooms but in both instances, the staff was great at accommodating and communicating !

The check in is always a problem

Communication with staff and check-in was very smooth, communication was always prompt when I had questions. The room was not as cozy and fresh as it looks online and it was not very clean. I had to ask for our carpet to be vacuumed because there was dirt on it. The cutlery drawer was full of crumbs and there were no towels for drying dishes, or wiping up counters. Right before we left I saw a sleep mask between the mattress and head board that did not belong to us. My car was also stolen while in Montreal overnight, so I recommend not leaving your vehicle over night. The staff did let us leave our bags so we could get our rental car and did answer any questions we had, however not the usual customer care you would get at a regular hotel. Content and happy with features, but disappointed as well.
