This is my first time staying at this hotel because every time I go to Bali I haven't had the chance to stay at this hotel. I deliberately chose a deluxe garden access room so that it would be easy to go to the beach. When heading to the hotel, I went through a closed road so I went around Kuta-Legian road 3 times. I called the hotel but the hotel staff didn't help much and didn't believe there was a closed road. Luckily there was a security guard who helped us go against the flow to the hotel.
When we arrived at the hotel, we parked quite far from the lobby, the security guard just looked at us without directing us to park, then sat back at his post. We brought suitcases with several handles but no one offered to help. When we arrived at the FO, we were helped to check in, after signing the RC we were informed that our room was upgraded to a junior suite type. Because we arrived quite late, there were no detailed questions from us. And we thought the access was the same as the garden. When we arrived at the room, voilaaa, there was no access to the garden. Because it was already late, we decided to keep the complaint in the morning.
In the morning, we went to the FO and asked why we were upgraded. And our guess was right, the hotel was overbooked.
Very disappointed. upgrading the room did not make us happy. If I return the situation, I pay the upgrade charge but return my reservation to the original, is that possible?
