Hotel is so so

Everyone was very courteous, room was good except for poor lighting. We had to have every light turned on to read the pamphlets. It was great having the attached restaurant for supper and breakfast. Parkade was poorly marked for entering so we had to go around the block to find our way in. Eventually got in.

Ateium is very friendly clean welcoming. They are perdect. Curiously super quiet place. I did hear anythings. Haein, at the reception have been very kind to use. Thank you 😊 for the stay !

We could hear our “neighbors” having sex this afternoon and weren’t allowed to switch rooms. Just want to have a good nights sleep. So far, not impressed and dreading the night where I will probably have to hear it some more.

Great check-in service. Nicec room. Hotel under renovation but zero impact to guests. Good sevices and breakfast.

The staff were very courteous and helpful--upon arrival we discovered that the hotel was under renovations. Our room was lovely, very clean! The kitchenette had a fridge, microwave, plates, glasses etc--all perfect. The air-conditioning was so dry that we woke with sore sinuses and red, puffy eyes. The bed was a bit hard, but some would have liked the firmness. Room temperature was a bit cool for us-- we couldn't change it, even though there was a thermostat. I asked for non-scented sheets, and they were perfect. We were both grateful not to be wrapped in fragrance all night. Five stars for that! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We were excited about free breakfast, and probably the average meat-eating person would be happy, but we have plant based diets and eat healthy... All the options (from bread to spreads to cereals to cooked food) were low quality; e.g. the herbed potatoes were out of a frozen package and the flavour tasted artificial, not real herbs etc. I felt a bit sickish after breakfast, my body not used to such foods. We were excited about a room with a balcony you could sit on, but it was directly across from the back stairs of several very slummy looking houses (same height as our balcony)--of course this isn't pictured in the ad, so you think you're getting a room with a balcony and so the price seems great...until you actually see the trashy slumlike dwellings twenty yards away. Suffice to say, we didn't open the balcony doors at all--honestly too close for comfort.

The room was clean and comfortable. Location is very convenient for the Pacific Coliseum. Staff were friendly. But the room is very noisy. Lots of street noise, very clear sound from the adjacent rooms, and the AC unit and vents make constant noise even when the fan is off.

No notice of long term renovation that reduced amenities available. Front desk staff was rude (I asked if they had a bottle of water or anywhere to get water at the hotel and they pointed at the gas station across the street and said you can just go there). Test or real fire alarm I am not sure but if it was a test then absolutely no notice or communication. Fridge also smelled like meat.

Breakfast wasn’t as good as it was in the summer. Eggs and sausage were hurting. And I was disappointed the gym was out of commission and wasn’t told that.

Room for improvement with the breakfast buffet, not a lot of selection and no one around to help with breakfast service. Property and room was clean and staff friendly!
