We had stayed at the Athens Gate Hotel in the past and enjoyed it very much. The rooftop patio and restaurant offered a great selection of delicious cocktails and meals along with a great buffet breakfast. The views from the restaurant are spectacular! The Acropolis and Parthenon are visible from one side and the Temple of Zeus from another. Within walking distance to a pedestrian walkway offering souvenirs, drinks, gelato and more. Restaurants are aplenty along the way as well as the Acropolis Museum further up. Hop On Hop Off buses are also close by. Staff are simply amazing! Helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Check in went smoothly despite people checking in and out, cruise ship passengers coming and going. A comfortable seating area was available while we waited for our room to be ready which was made accessible to us prior to the 3pm check in time. Room was clean with comfortable beds, a large clean washroom and a view of the Temple of Zeus. A welcoming bottle of a nice white wine awaited us, courtesy of the hotel manager. As they say it is “your home in Athens.”

Excellent location for all of the Acropolis sites and attractions. Easy walking distance to all of the sites and lots of shops and restaurants. The view from the roof top restaurant is amazing.

The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to most Athens attractions. There are a lot of restaurants and bars within just a minute or two walk from here. The hotel itself was very nice. Inviting lobby. The entire staff was super friendly… from the front desk to the doormen to the cleaning staff. There’s a restaurant on the eighth floor that offers a buffet breakfast and it’s included in your room rate. The food is really good and though it doesn’t vary that much it’s a nice breakfast option for sure. We had dinner one night at this restaurant and it was fantastic. The view is of the Parthenon all lit up and it’s spectacular. On the other side of the restaurant, the view is of the Zeus ruins, which are just a bunch of columns, but still pretty interesting to see from eight floors up. Food is excellent. We also had drinks up there a few nights, and they were great. The restaurant is very reasonably priced. Our room was cleaned daily and hada safe and small refrigerator. Plenty of storage for clothing.There is a balcony; one thing I would suggest is that they put a chair two out on the balcony because it’s nice to sit outside and people watch. Instead, we stood out there and did that. The hotel did not have coffee in the lobby On days that we were leaving early, we couldn’t get coffee before the restaurant opened at 7 AM. But this is not a big deal. The hotel arranged airport transfer, and the drivers were on time. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.
