Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh

Very clean, super friendly staff and made our first stop in Edinburgh very memorable.

great location to lots of famous tourist spots and shopping. No on property parking and off property parking was small and had to pay

Nice hotel, well located. Clean and great breakfast. Only complaint is the cleaning staff was super loud yelling up and down the hall

I gave a 4 star rating only because the room was small for what we paid, but nicely appointed and clean. Great toiletries (and even a wash cloth which was a pleasant surprise). We had the buffet breakfast and the service and variety was excellent.

One of the 2 elevator was broken and we waited long time to going up and down, the room was so dark and small, the bed was terrible

The hotel is in a very good location to tour Edinburgh. The front desk staff was very helpful, even letting us change rooms when we had an issue. Breakfast was very good and the fitness center was good. We never received the complimentary bottle of wine that was mentioned on Expedia when I booked nor was I offered an upgrade.

I cannot be more grateful about the customer service of the Leonardo Hotel. Excellent location! Our breakfast was delicious and had a variety of food. I’ll definitely recommend it.

We loved the hotel. The location was convenient. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful. Two minor complaints: 1 - the room was too dark. Definitely needed more lighting; and 2 - our drain in the shower kept filling up and we had to turn the shower off so that it wouldn’t overflow. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location and close to station. Staff were lovely and offered Prosecco on arrival. Breakfast plenty of choice just hate machines for drinks, prefer the personal touch being older! Only issue was the bed being too firm which caused backache but only stayed one night.

It was the best buffet breakfast our family has had. Quality ingredients, fresh, a variety of options. Fresh juices, smoothies, hot options, omelet station, tea and coffee. Just great!

The reception and front desk staff were consistently kind and helpful. The location is excellent - very convenient for getting around, with plenty of things to see and do just minutes away. As a solo female traveler, I did find that there wasn’t much within comfortable walking distance of the hotel after about 9 p.m. The hotel does have a cute bar that stays open until around 11, but it felt fairly quiet and not very lively when I was there alone. My only real issue was with the elevators. One was completely out of service during my stay, and the other was not always reliable. Being on the fifth floor, this meant having to use the stairs multiple times, which was quite inconvenient.

The hotel room was very nice, comfortable, all amenities needed. They quickly responded try my emails prior to our stay. Breakfast was fine but would have been nice to offer at least one different option per day- every day was exactly the same. Hotel restaurant- took us an hour to get 2 sandwiches. Waitress very nice but seems the cook staff didn’t have some of the ingredients. Great hotel location and convenient to all sites.

We got an early check in which was fantastic for us. Check in staff very friendly and also the egg station chef was friendly. The room was clean and adequate. The Hotel itself was also clean and in a great location for visiting the new town and old town. Only 1 thing Negative to mention that didn't personally effect us as we were up early and ready to go for Breakfast. Currently there is some kind of building work or maintenance going on. They started what sounded like a pavement cutter at around 6:30AM. I'm sure they just did it for a laugh between themselves. Anyhow like I say it didn't effect us as we were ready and getting dressed and packing. Just be aware of this if your booking

Rooms are quite small but very clean. Location was spectacular. Very close to the train station- it was a 2 minute walk. Check in was very easy. Close to everything you need, attractions and many restaurants and cafe’s.

Great breakfast and location. Prosecco on arrival was a great touch. Staff were friendly and helpful. Made a request at reception which wasn’t followed through and also the lifts weren’t working properly for our whole stay, which caused an inconvenience. Other than that a lovely stay.
