This was a very nice hotel that was extremely convenient for travelers arriving in Edinburgh by train - literally only a block and a half away! While a bit more expensive than a comparable hotel we stayed at in London an equal distance from Victoria Station, it was ideal for our stay in Edinburgh. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they kept our luggage for us while we visited the Palace and toured the Royal Mile. My only concern was that our luggage and backpack were left exposed to the general public in the lobby the entire time we were away. A secure room for left luggage would’ve been more reassuring! Our room had a lovely king size bed. The ironing board and iron was a nice touch. The hair dryer worked great and there was lots of hot water and great water pressure. The climate control in the room was sluggish but eventually did a good job. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet.

Other guests were given Prosecco on arrival but we didn’t.Reception staff did not seem to be that proficient and did not know if they could provide a chair for the shower also the fridge was not working all was put right in the end

I have to tell them to clean our eoom Basically but they do not want to bed has hair dusty little bugs which i bit by my face bed stinky like pee room heater not working they have to call maintenance all the time room alarmef on us for no reason carpet dirty you paid for a hotel that is not a hotel 4 star at all i should have stayed outside that is the feeling no shampooo no body wash i have yo call but phone not workjnv i havd to go all thd way down from 7th floor to lobby

Location is goo right near the train station and royal mile. Room was clean and comfortable. Good value for the price. Breakfast was a good buffet spread but pretty expensive at 18 pounds per person. The elevators were down while we were there and we did see some questionable characters in the lobby at night, but for the elevator and stairs it required a room key. The door did close a bit slowly behind you when taking the stairs unless you pulled it shut.

I can’t say enough great things about this hotel: the location is perfect, the property is very nice, the staff is very friendly, polite and attentive, the rooms are beautiful and breakfast is amazing! I will definitely stay here again and absolutely recommend this hotel! Loved it!

Great location a short walk from the main city attractions, brand new room which was spotless and well thought out. Comfy bed. Very good range of options for breakfast Looks ugly from the outside but don’t let that put you off as insight is superb Highly recommended
