Loved the upgrade to a junior suite! Beautiful room and view. Air conditioning worked well but while in bed, vent blew in your face all night long…..Hair dryer is a nightmare. It’s under the vanity, super heavy, and the cord isn’t long enough….Also, rugs need cleaning. However, this is a lovely hotel with a wonderful location!

This is a decent old hotel with a rooftop pool in a central location in Madrid. Some floors have been renovated and others are close to original. We stayed two days, checked out, went to tour the Alhambra in Cordoba overnight, then came back to this hotel for two more days. The difference in rooms is a problem. Our first room was newly renovated but the bed was not a king but two smaller beds pushed together. This was a disaster. So on our second stay we asked for a room with a king size bed. We were given one in the unrenovated section. This room was sub par. No USB to charge phones and a sub standard bed. When asked they moved us to a better room that was perfect. All in all it was a decent stay with breakfast included.

We were initially given a small room with poor quality mattresses. We complained to the staff at reception and the gentleman (do not have a name) working the front desk on the morning of June 4 was very receptive and helpful. He listened to us and offered to bring up new mattresses or move us to another room. We moved, and the new room was fabulous with comfortable beds. We appreciated his assistance and excellent customer service.

Amenities were bare minimum with no tissue paper and small towels in the bathroom which is very tight, old and poorly ventilated without opening up the bathroom window. The side elevator does not allow you to access the rooftop pool but no sign in the elevator to indicate the access limit. I found that out only after I went down to ask the receptionist who looked at me as though I should have known that.
