Accustomed to staying at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts properties worldwide (Paris, Istanbul, etc.), our five-day stay in Shenzhen was unexpectedly disappointing and, more concerningly, reflective of a decline in the brand’s standards. The room showed evident neglect: curtains that would not close, and exposed nails on a chair which unfortunately injured our baby. The bathroom door also malfunctioned repeatedly, locking from the outside and requiring late-night intervention. Most concerning was housekeeping: when our baby was unwell and the bed sheets were soiled, they were not replaced but simply covered with a blanket. We contacted guest services three times, without answer or any call back. Attention to basic details was lacking (only one towel provided for a family of four). Service was notably rigid, with a refusal to accommodate a prepaid breakfast missed due to our child’s illness. At breakfast, despite clearly explaining my strict dietary requirements, as I do not eat meat or fish and eggs are my sole source of protein, repeated requests for five eggs were never respected, with smaller portions consistently served. There were also ongoing works within the hotel and associated noise, something that could have been understandable had the overall stay met expectations. Overall, this experience has significantly altered our perception of the brand.

Always a good stay at Shangrila hotels, and especially at the Louhu location. Enjoyed the Horizon Club upgrade - well worth the price out opinion.

This hotel offers great value for money, making it an excellent choice for travelers looking for comfort and convenience without overspending. The rooms are clean, modern, and well-maintained, providing a pleasant and relaxing stay. Its central location in Luohu is a major highlight. The hotel is just about a 10-minute walk from the Luohu–Hong Kong border, making cross-border travel very easy. Luohu Commercial City Mall is only a 5-minute walk away, perfect for shopping and dining. The Luohu Subway Station is just 2 minutes away on foot, offering quick access to the rest of Shenzhen. Shenzhen Train Station is also within a 5-minute walk, and Dongmen Plaza, a popular shopping area, can be reached in about 15 minutes. Overall, a highly convenient and comfortable option, especially for those wanting to stay in the heart of Luohu.

Staff were polite. The location is convenient for accessing the railroad station to other parts of China. Close to the Hong Kong border crossing. Central to all other attractions around Shenzhen. Very comfortable & quiet oasis away from the hustle in the area.

Clean room and helpful staffs

Building is old, but keeping clean and nice,room is wonderful, feeling just like go back home. staffs really did the good jobs. This hotel have best location, you can walking cross border go to Hong Kong.

Excellent place to stay. We had a suite and the amenities are fabulous, free breakfast as well as lounge access that had wonderful food. Room was very clean, staff very nice.

Hotel is near to the train and metro station.

Huge disappointment given its Shangri la logo. Very outdated inside out. Shower set didn’t function properly. Room toilet trash bin was left unattended for days. The cleaning staff threw away all my shaver accessories. Lots of smoking smell inside the hotel and along the corridor.
