It's a lovely hotel, with the basic amenities and a good breakfast buffet. WiFi is fast, water pressure is amazing, and the staff cleans your room daily, providing fresh towels. However I don't think they change your bedding unless you explicitly request it. For the price, you're paying more for the location than hotel room frills. The hotel is in a really good spot, with lovely rooftop views of the Acropolis and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. It's also close to a metro stop and major bus/tram stops. Bonus points for being close to the pickup spot of Key Tours and a drop-off point for other tourist operators and is an ideal base if you want to explore Plaka and other surrounding neighbourhoods. Well-lit and it felt relatively safe to walk around at night.

El hotel estuvo excelente, con una ubicación privilegiada muy cerca de la acropolis y las vistas desde el restaurante perfectas. La comida estuvo genial en el desayuno y el cuarto tenía todas sus amenidades. El personal fue muy atento siempre. Lo único que podría mejorar son los elevadores que aunque funcionan muy bien, son muy pequeños, aunque esto es algo común en muchos lugares de Europa

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Athens Gate Hotel! The location is unbeatable — literally steps away from the Acropolis entrance and within easy walking distance to the Acropolis Museum, Plaka, Monastiraki, Temple of Zeus, and most major cultural sites. We didn’t need to use public transport at all during our time in Athens. The room was spotlessly clean, modern, and very comfortable, with great views of the Acropolis from higher floors. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained. What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone we met — from reception to housekeeping to breakfast team — was genuinely friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Special thanks for the warm smiles and great local recommendations!

Great moderately priced hotel in convenient location of Athen’s attractions. Staff were helpful, welcoming and the room was spotless. Included a wonderful breakfast at the 8th floor rooftop restaurant. We had a wonderful stay and recommend this gem to other travelers!

Air conditioning was not available and room was uncomfortably warm. When we called to ask if A/C could be turned on staff said it was not available this time of the year and suggested we open door to balcony to let cool air in. This then caused next problem of car and motor bike noise all night from main busy street below. Our first sleep experience in Greece after international flight was terrible as a result.
