Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh

Very clean and beautiful hotel in a central location. Our room was beautiful, but just be aware that although we got a junior suite, the bathroom was split into 3 parts w the sink and mirror area in the room! Then, there was a door for the shower, and a door for the toilet. I didn’t like not having 1 bathroom. Everything else was great!

Clean room, helpful staff, very close proximity to weaverly station which was very helpful to us, very short walking distance to famous royal mile, close to major attractions and walking distance to city center. Enjoyed the room, free water, tea and coffee in the room.

Great check in with efficient and friendly staff member. Room was a great size with good teas and coffees and lovely shower products. Walls were a bit thin so could hear next door neighbours but wasn’t too bad. The worst bit was check out - 20 mins to just hand in our keys. The young girl on reception was allowing people to constantly push in the queue - eventually told her that many people were stood in the queue (and in a rush) she apologised and continued to deal with people pushing in (at least 4 times). Totally irritating and seemed to be a lack of training in managing this type of behaviour. Sadly it let the hotel down as made us very late and slightly cross when leaving. Shame because the check in was warm and efficient.

The hotel location was great, close to the, waverly train station, royal mile and Edinburgh castle. Lots of pubs, cafes and restaurants within the vicinity. The M&S supermarket in the train station is close by and sold fresh meals to go. The hotel is clean. Our room was perfect for the 3 of us. Our AC in the room needed to be cooler. For 3 people in a small room, it got hot quickly. The staff were pleasant. One elevator (lift) worked during our stay, so we used the stairs a lot (not bad). Overall, it was great hotel. We will stay there again.

When we arrived the TV was un plugged and the plug would not reach the socket. We tried to call reception but the phone was not working. We went to reception and a maintenance man arrived and fixed the issue with the tv, and said he would get the phone fixed. However, when we turned the TV off to go to sleep the TV turned back on by itself 3 times. Eventually we had to take the TV off the wall to unplug it. We went back to reception the following morning and explained the issue, we went out for the day and when we got back the TV and the phone were fixed. Great Also there was a building site outside our window. On our last morning we went down for breakfast but we're told that due to a maintenance issue the restaurant was closed and they were only offering drinks and pastries. Apart from that, great location.

Too expensive for the amenities. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, but in general the hotel lacks on food quality in the breakfast and some items missing in the room like robes and slippers. I was expecting a lot more for the cost. The location, however, is amazing.

A great hotel in the best location for everything Edinburgh including the station (2-3 minute walk). The rooms were clean, staff were helpful and friendly and the hotel is in good condition. The only issue we had was, when ordering a latte from the bar, the coffee was cold. I let the bar-people know so that they can avert in the future. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel to all.

Room was great, nice decor. We were greeted with a welcome drink which was appreciated. Lots of coffee and tea in the room. Great location to easily access Royal Mile out the back way. I would recommend staying here.

Rooms are small with tiny bathrooms. Staff are very helpful but construction occurring on the street in front of the hotel makes more difficult walking at Access.

I had an interior room and despite construction. My room was very quiet and very clean. The breakfast selection was excellent.

Room was great. Breakfast was one of the best we've had at a hotel. Location was spot on for the train but also for the royal mile. The only downside was check in. The staff were not very friendly and it was awkward to find our room. We were told to go down this way to find floor 4. There was a lift but it only went to rooms up to 432. Luckily a bar staff member told us we had to walk another 30 seconds around into the new building works area to find a second lift. There was no signs or anything to say this so i feel the reception staff should be telling people this. Overall a really good stay and would stay again.

This property was outstanding and really centrally located. The room layout was perfect for my family (2 adults and 1 teen). The hotel was charming with a great vibe, staff very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was excellent with lots of options before heading out to explore the city. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again if ever back in the city. It's a great choice and great value.

The concierge and restaurant staff during breakfast were spectacular and treated us like royalty. We truly loved our stay. My only suggestion is that the hotel should inform guests in advance that it is under construction, as some areas can be noisy during the day. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience, and we would gladly return.
