Ipoh Airport, officially Sultan Azlan Shah Airport (IPH), serves Ipoh, the state capital of Perak. It sits about 6 km from Ipoh city centre, close enough that getting into town is a short ride. The airport is run by Malaysia Airports and has a single passenger terminal for both domestic and international flights. It is a small airport and quick to get through.
In Malay the airport is Lapangan Terbang Sultan Azlan Shah. Its IATA code is IPH and its ICAO code is WMKI, and IPH is the code printed on your booking, boarding pass and bag tag. This guide covers the terminal, the airline that flies here, getting into the city and how to use the flight schedule on this page.
Every flight at Ipoh Airport uses the same terminal, whether it is domestic or international. Check-in, security and arrivals are all in one building, so there is no terminal to choose and no transfer to plan.
AirAsia flies between Ipoh and Johor Bahru.
The flight schedule tables further down this page show which airlines have upcoming flights, and your e-ticket names the one operating yours.
With the city centre only about 6 km away, the trip into Ipoh is short. You can go by taxi, e-hailing car, rental car or city bus.
Taxis serve the terminal, and e-hailing apps such as Grab pick up here too. Check the fare in the app or with the driver before you go, and confirm the pick-up spot when you land.
Car rental is available at the airport. Book ahead if you want a particular car, and bring your driving licence.
BAS.MY Ipoh route A37, run by Perak Transit, stops at the airport on its way between Medan Kidd, Ipoh's main city bus terminal, and Taman Botani. Check the BAS.MY app for the next departure.
If friends or family are collecting you, the short distance makes a pick-up easy. Arrange it before you fly so you are not waiting at the kerb.
The terminal has cafeterias and shops, handy for a drink or a snack before your flight.
Ipoh Airport is not open around the clock. Plan to arrive for your flight rather than to wait overnight in the terminal.
Follow your airline's check-in and bag-drop cut-off on your booking confirmation. The terminal is compact, but the counters still close on time.
On an international flight you go through immigration in the terminal before boarding. Entry requirements for your destination, and for Malaysia on your return, are set by each government, so check the official guidance for your passport before you travel. For the latest times on the day, use the Traveloka flight status page.
The fare cards on this page show fares from Ipoh to the routes on sale. Lower on the page, the Ipoh Airport schedule tables show upcoming flights for each date, along with the airline and scheduled times. Not every service appears there, so search your own dates to see the full choice.
Choose your route and date, compare the departure times and book the one that suits you. Set a Price Alert if you would rather wait for a better fare. Routes from Ipoh Airport include:
