Melaka Airport (MKZ) is the airport for the historic state of Melaka, which many English sources also spell Malacca, on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It stands in Batu Berendam, roughly 10 km from Melaka town, and is run by Malaysia Airports. This is a small airport with a single runway and one passenger terminal. Alongside its domestic role, it has international links with Indonesia, including Pekanbaru.
You will find the terminal, the ways into town and how to use the flight schedule on this page.
The airport was formerly known as Batu Berendam Airport, after the area it stands in. Malaysia Airports now calls it Melaka Airport. In English you will also see Malacca Airport or Melaka International Airport, and Malay media use Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Melaka. All of these names point to the same place.
Melaka Airport is also home to the Malaysian Flying Academy, which trains pilots here. Its IATA code is MKZ and its ICAO code is WMKM. MKZ is the code you will see on your booking, boarding pass and bag tag.
There is one passenger terminal at Melaka Airport, and it serves both domestic and international passengers. That means there is no terminal to pick and no transfer between buildings. Check-in, security and arrivals all happen in the same building.
Services at smaller airports can start and stop at short notice. The flight schedule tables further down this page show which airlines have upcoming flights from MKZ. Your e-ticket confirms the operating airline, and that is the counter you need.
Melaka town is about 10 km away, so the trip is short by road. Traffic in town can slow things down at busy times. Fares are shown on the bus or in the app, so check them there.
BAS.MY route M12 calls at the airport and runs to Melaka Sentral. It is the public transport option if you are travelling light and are not in a hurry. Ask the driver or check the BAS.MY information on the day, because routes and timings can change.
Taxis and ride-hailing cars both pick up at Melaka Airport. They are the simpler choice with luggage or a group, and they take you straight to your address. If you plan to use a ride-hailing app, confirm the pick-up point in the app when you land.
Follow your airline on how early to arrive. Its check-in cut-off is on your booking confirmation, and a small terminal does not mean the cut-off is relaxed. For a flight to Indonesia, bring your passport and allow time for immigration on departure.
Entry rules for Indonesia, or for Malaysia when you fly back, are set by each government rather than the airport. Check the official guidance for your passport well before you go. For the latest on your flight, use the Traveloka flight status page.
The fare cards on this page show fares from Melaka to the routes currently on sale. Below them, the schedule tables list upcoming flights at Melaka Airport by date, with the airline and the scheduled times. They show a selection of flights, not every service, so treat them as a starting point.
Pick a date, compare the airlines and times for your route, and book the one that suits you. Not ready to book yet? Set a Price Alert and Traveloka will tell you when the fare changes. Your e-ticket then arrives by email and in the app.
Flying from Melaka is easy to plan with Traveloka, so search your dates and book your MKZ flight in a few taps.
