The Langham, Melbourne

Excellent location to travel from right in front of Flinder St station

Best location in Melbourne. Close to everything without staying in the “grotty” central area. The Langham is gorgeous with spectacular views. From the moment you check in you feel special. Buffet breakfast is great with a Lovely selection. The pool area is good overlooking the Yarra. I always love staying here.

Always the best place to stay in Melbourne, location , food and service. Highly recommended. Tx

Courteous staff, clean room. Electrical sockets wholly inadequate for modern devices. Needs improvement. Bell desk staff excellent.

Honestly, I expect more from a 5 star hotel, especially when comparing to those overseas. I’ve stayed here a few times, but I think this was probably my last. Everything is ok and the location is amazing, but the staff aren’t super friendly and don’t really go above and beyond as to the level of a 5 star hotel. We arrived quite early for our booking, so understandably our room wasnt ready. However, they said they’d call us when our room was ready and never did. Just a simple thing like that is quite valued. Also, my gold status wasn’t recognised, which was partly why I picked this hotel. I think you can do better for value for money. I think that the standard has slipped quite a lot here sadly! I feel that guests here are more like numbers and it’s not very personal.

Amazing service and staff

Beautiful Hotel in a great location close to all the main points of interest. Right on the river. The Langham Club on floor 24 is amazing . Staff are super helpful and professional

The Langham leans heavily into its upper-class roots. The lobby decor makes a strong statement about the experience one should expect as a guest of the establishment - and for the most part, the establishment does deliver. The common areas are anything but common; they're typically pristine and grandeur is emphasised at every opportunity. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quite classy - if a little dated. A marketing person might say they're "steeped in history." Speaking of marketing - it never stops. The TV plays a (very nicely produced) promo video on loop until you select something and everything in the room is "Langham" branded from the soaps to the phone to the ethernet plug housing. Their (complimentary) branded water with the signature pink label is as ubiquitous as it is delicious; it's got that hint of alpine spring sweetness to it - I just wish it came in bigger bottles. A member of hotel staff is never far away if assistance is needed and - to their credit - the don't treat look down their noses at the punters the way (staff of) some similar establishments do. One of the elevators was out-of-service which meant a longer wait on occasion and the swipe reader in the elevators was incredibly finnicky, even when sober - I saw many guests struggling to select their room level. The pool/spa/sundeck offers spectacular city views and typically high standards of maintenance. In the immortal words of Ferris Bueller: If you have the means, I highly recommend it.

Spacious, comfortable and quiet room with king bed on 15th floor. Hotel was within short walking distance of Sumner Theatre, for which we had tickets. City easily accessible also. inopposite

Nice room. Could have been better for the price

Very happy with the room, the amenities, the comfort of the bed etc. Loved the pool and spa. 3pm Check in was pretty ordinary which spoiled things. We were told we would receive a call when the room was ready however we didn’t. We went back to reception just after 3 and were told the room was yet to be inspected and would only be a ‘sec’. We wait and waited for another 20 minutes and nothing. We then approached reception again and we were finally check in. Pretty disappointed with that.

The room was clean. Unfortunately we booked a room for 3 people that slept 4 people. Only 2 robes were in the room, 2 bottles of water, 2 pairs of slippers. Made going to the pool tricky with only 2 robes and 3 people. Staff were friendly as always.

From the moment that you step into The Langham you know that it’s going to be special. The check-in process was easy. Our room was stunning, timeless. The staff that we encountered at the restaurant, room service, and the pool were all so lovely. Would love to stay again.
