The young lady upon checking inn was fantastic. We waited on us on the patio and got to see her upon our departure as well to wish her well!
Breakfast was great and overlooking canal. Cafe outside overlooking the canal was great and a very popular spot. Hotel was well located, walkable to everywhere.
The hotel is going through a major renovation but it wasn't a disturbance to us. Due to the scaffolding outside of the hotel, it made it easier to locate our hotel after a long day of touring.

This hotel was a highlight of our entire trip to Belgium. However, my review is highly subjective. The hotel is under renovation and the renovated room we were originally placed in was not good (very poor, very straightforward minimalistic design, even no place to hang our dresses). The elevator to our floor was outdated and didn't work well, sometimes stopping between the floors. The receptionist (I regret I didn't ask his name, I really owe him) heard our complains and offered an old (meaning not renovated yet) room one floor below the lobby. The room was huge and old-fashioned, it overlooked the canal and many boats were passing by. We were warned that the room in not airconditioned and next day we were offered a fan. The room (I think it was 021) was so unique that we would stay again regardless all the imperfections. Yet, with the ongoing renovation I'm not sure it won't be turned into something ordinary and faceless. One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is in the so-called low-traffic zone, which only residents are allowed to enter with their cars. To avoid the fines, you must scan a QR code and submit registration within 24 hours. With all the turmoil, I only noticed this poster at the reception during the check-out, so I'm expecting some steep fines forwarded to me by the rental car company. Yet, I would stay at this room again, event at higher price.

Location, location, location! Steps from the square, on a canal! Views were spectacular!! Breakfast was lovely hosted by a wonderful lady. The attached patio and Waffle Wagon must be experienced. All staff we encountered were helpful and welcoming. There was some construction but that can't be avoided and it didn't interfere with our stay.

This hotel is half with old glamor and half with minimal necessity. Located conveniently in the center of the town, it’s an easy access from the street. Quiet and spacious with minimal wooden construction and amenities, it provides you mostly what you need for a good night sleep. Switches are a little confusing and you need to keep trying. But when you go to breakfast in the morning, you discover the old glamor hidden in the back. Facing the canal, this is what you see on the internet with beautiful lightning and the reason for my booking. If you are a practical traveler for a good lodging at night, this is a good pick!

Location was perfect. Right in the middle of the main area. Room had a great view on the canal. No air conditioning, room was extremely hot. One day did not have hot water, had a room with just a tub. Would not book that room again. Hotel very confusing with the layout. Also, front desk not open all the time.

The hotel was a great location with beautiful views from our room onto the canal. The room was good size but dated with some repairs needed. I do realize it is an old building tho. The lobby was updated but often a mess. There was construction w/scaffolding out front that we were not told about prior to coming. People at desk were nice enough. However, we booked a taxi with them 2x which never came the morning we needed to catch a plane.

We didn't have breakfast here but went to local cafes instead, but from the set up it looked good. If you have mobility issues, this hotel may not be for you - steps to the lift. We would stay here again.

There was some noise during the day time (from like 9:00 to 18:00), so quiet in the evening but noisy if you needed an afternoon nap. Great location! Bruges is a dream and Hotel Bourgoensch Hof is a perfect place to stay to explore the town. The hotel is a short walk from many of the historic locations and museums. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Breakfast offered the usual fare of meats, cheeses, pastries and cereal and was served is a beautiful room overlooking the canal. We didn't sign up for breakfast but would the next time - coffee shops don't open until 9 or 10 so if you want a little something to get you going, take the breakfast! We enjoyed rounding up our days in the hotel bar each evening. We were delighted with our large rooms overlooking the canal (21 and 23). These rooms are not luxurious but are clean and lovely. Room 21 is quite large and elegant, and room 23 is very close to the canal boat action (if the curtains are open, you might be part of the tour....) We took some gorgeous pictures right from our room as well as watching local ducks feed their chicks on the banks of the canal. We look forward to visiting again!

Very spacious, modern room with enormous bathroom. No closet but a couple of hangars, and shelves and plenty of space to lay out suitcases (and long counter in bathroom for toiletries). Staff was very helpful in securing us a cab to the train station.

This hotel was in the core of the historical district. Walking to the Markt, Belfry, Historium, canal cruised were all steps away. Many chocolate, waffle, beer and spevialry shops (lace and tapestries) lined the street.
Rooms were spacious, pristine and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
