Hotel Gravensteen

We stayed 3 nights and we were excited to be at the hotel. Found the places noted in the pictures were common areas (hotel entrance and staircase). Those were charming and beautiful. Our room was in the other building which looked like a super 8. Drab, plain entrance, hallways and room. Our carpet had huge stains in it. We were disappointed with the room as we expected a charming space. The front desk staff were very unhelpful. Didn’t get up from their back desk to talk to you at the counter, rattled off locations for the bus without any context, didn’t have maps of the area, suggestions of where to eat and couldn’t be bothered to help in any way. Out of 3 nights out room was we cleaned once other than new towels. The location is good but I would recommend the Marriot instead. I chose this one as I thought the rooms would have some personality but the Marriot will likely have better service, similar location and their pictures of the rooms seemed accurate.

Friendly staff, comfortable room and parking available for an extra charge. It is a really good location for exploring the city.

The location is great and the hotel property is clean but the bathroom smelled terrible ( bad smell from drain) which appeared fixed the next day, hot water kettle stopped working, bathroom toiletries were all empty - had not been refilled. The room itself was clean and spacious. Hotel breakfast and staff at breakfast were both great.

Easy access to restaurants, bars, etc. Right across from hotel is the castle. Great walking area to see the sights.

Expedia said it was room only but when we checked in we were told it was actually included so it was nice. The property is absolutely beautiful, it’s small and convenient right in front of a spectacular castle a couple blocks from downtown, everything was so close and so nice. The room was a little bit small as we took the cheapest option, but good in general.

The first room we were placed in had a broken toilet seat, and the room was TINY. However, the friendly staff member immediately reassigned us to a much nicer room with more space. The hotel was clean and comfortable and within easy walk to city centre

The room was way too expensive and I didn't even get breakfast with it. You can find better deals. I didn't even get Canal view. The room was nice and clean. But you can get that for much less price in town. It was annoying that every five minutes the light would go off if you're not moving around. You have to get up and turn the light on. They did have some lights by the bed, but they were not as bright.

Parking not easy given their location but they were super helpful and made it all work out.

Very nice room local multi storey very reasonable for long stay parked car day and half 20 euro.
