Dormy House Hotel

Parking is good, the room was spacious, but a little bit tired tbh. The breakfast is supplied in your room (cereal etc). The most disappointing aspect was the evening meal. I had fish and chips, I ordered it and it appeared literally within a minute. The fish was not fresh, the chips were not twice fried homemade as per the menu, but frozen chips and the peas were dry, I left most of it. I told the waiter and was just told that he would feedback to the kitchen.

Very happy. Loved the breakfast food hamper. Clean room, staff friendly, lots of parking area.

Lovely stay, great location, great staff

Very convenient, really helpful staff and great idea to have the breakfast hamper in the room. The room was a good size and we enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant.

Perfect room for us. We were on the top floor, others may not have liked the sloping ceiling but it was surprisingly cool up there. The breakfast hamper was really fantastic, and having a fridge really helped on a hot few days. The beach is a few minutes walk away and it is a quiet location with space outside. It is fully dog friendly which is great. The bar environment is nice but the food that we ordered in the restaurant was underwhelming for the price. The TV didn't seem to use the aerial, just internet, e.g. going to BBC One would open iPlayer, but we did not care about this and it is probably easily sorted. Would absolutely stay here again.

What can we say other than absolutely fantastic big thank you to Mandy and her daughter and the rest of Mandy‘s team if we find ourselves out that way again, we would not hesitate but to book a room at this establishment

Friendly staff, good location and plenty of parking.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - a credit to the hotel. My dog made lots of friends with the staff and managed to blag a great number of treats from the bar. Food was good and a quiet location (in the winter).

On arrival radiator in room not working and still not working when we left after 3 nights . Day 2 we had electric heater provided. Continental breakfast was poor no fruit juices or fresh or fruit cocktail ( or tinned. No bread or toast machine butter or preserves . Small boxes of cereals and unappealing croissants were there. Although this is our personal opinion other guests were saying the same to us. The general Manager was very nice and needs a medal trying to get things sorted . The kitchen is contracted to outside. Caterers who are not under her control. I politely but firmly Made my complaints . The bar service was good and was well stocked.

Service and location, restaurant/bar were all amazing especially the breakfst hamper in the room. The building shows some signs of age (noise from otehr rooms and floor board creaking) but the whole experience of staying here for 2 nights with our dog was lovely especially as we travelled without a car. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. highly recommend.

We booked a family room, and fairly last minute. Paid a good price for it. A very friendly welcome, our family room was top of the building, a very warm day you kind of expect a building to get warm, but as we approached our room it got hotter, opened the door, someone had left the heating on in our room, and it was crazy hot. We opened the windows to let the heat out. We found the room neat and tidy, but the decor looking a bit tired, the carpet i think could be deep cleaned, alot of hair on the carpet, we found some crumbs and bits along the walls on the floor. The bathroom door had had a dodgy varnish job at some point. In the bathroom was an odd stain on the floor in the corner. Above the sink were some holes in the wall where im thinking attempts had been made to put the small shelf. The furniture looked very tired and old, the dresser with the cups and drinks on had lots of water marks all over it. The beds we found a little soft, we are used to a firmer mattress. The room was warm all night so we had windows open, and listened to the rain. Everytime one of us moved in the bed the headboard rattled the wall. The staff were very friendly, helpful and kind. I dont know if we just got unlucky with our room.

An enjoyable stay for the family at a comfortable hotel close to the sea. Staff were friendly, and there was plenty of parking behind the hotel. The food was pub style, well priced and good quality. The bar was well stocked

The lady on reception was very pleasant on arrival and helpful. After that point things went downhill. The family room was very run down and the carpet had both dog and human hair in it. It clearly had not been hoovered before we arrived. The walls were marked badly and as usual the family room was la ed in the attic of the building. Such a shame because the location lends itself to being a great hotel!

Just returned home from an incredible stay. The hotel is perfectly located for the beach/train station and the view from our room (no:18) was breathtaking. I would highly recommend this hotel, the cleanliness throughout and also the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We had dinner and breakfast, both were fantastic. We took our 1yr old Cavapoo and he had the time of his life, he enjoyed looking out of the balcony from room 18. We will be visiting again soon.

Easy parking, good location with view of the sea

A very pet friendly hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room (14) was large and accommodated us and our 2 border collies. There is a large car park at the rear. The food was excellent
